JAN 1, 15 .. HAPPY NEW YEAR 2015 TO YOU AND TO YOURS ..

All of these ‘themes’ in my head.  HAPPINESS IS .. FOR WHAT IT’S WORTH .. A LITTLE OF THIS AND THAT .. A NICE THOUGHT .. A LITTLE CHIT-CHAT .. THE DINKEY BIRD .. DRAMA .. INTENSE .. LOVE .. ON THE ROAD .. YOU ASKED THE QUESTION .. GOD .. THEOLOGY .. KEEP CALM AND SAUNTER ON .. and others ..

Let’s go with DRAMA and see what happens ..

HIGH DRAMA IS: What happens when a Chinese Friend or even an Ex-Patriot here finds out what I am eating here in Hong Kong .. what I am basically living on!

They scream .. “OH NO CAP! LORD GOD CAP NOT THOSE CAP! INSTANT NOODLES WILL KILL YOU CAP!” as they fall to the ground and roll-up-into a FETAL position and begin to quietly rock back and forth!

Well guys I AM eating other things! I am not just eating the Instant Noodles all by their lonesome selves! I DO have Chinese Peanut Butter after all!

I really am eating something other than INSTANT NOODLES! Below you see ‘ZILLA’S contribution to my food plan here in Hong Kong of one of HIS major food groups.

“What’s that ‘ZILLA? You do not have your reading glasses with you?” .. What can I say ‘ZILLA?  O.K. my friend .. below is a close-up look of one of your food groups that you suggested to me some number of years ago!

THE REST OF THIS STORY. ‘ZILLA is diabetic and as such risks serious complications IF his blood sugar crashes.  So ‘ZILLA told me some many years ago that he carries with him mini-SNICKERS-bars just in case he gets into low blood-sugar trouble. SO I figured that IF ‘ZILLA is O.K. with mini-SNICKERS-bars THEN SO TOO AM I!

Back to some mischief .. I also eat other food groups.

Are you kidding me! I had to make-a-deal with the young man above .. he would NOT move away from the sign he was blocking so I said .. “OK I will take YOUR photographs AFTER I photograph your sign.” Deal is a deal.

What is it about me that draws to me such characters! Do I seem playful or what! First HE risks me dismissing him out-of-hand! Me I risk nothing ..

 

THAT JUST POSSIBLY DAY-IN AND DAY-OUT .. SERVES THE VERY BEST OF THE BEST ..

“Ah-h-h-h CAPTAIN .. we are not absolutely positive that Singapore Rice Noodles are at the top of the list of HEALTHY FOODS CAPTAIN!”

In closing it has been FOREVER since I have posted my favorite childhood poem .. THE DINKEY BIRD ..

N an ocean, ‘way out yonder,

(As all sapient people know)

Is the land of Wonder-Wander,

Whither children love to go;

It’s their playing, romping, swinging,

That give great joy to me

While the Dinkey-Bird goes singing

In the amfalula tree!

There the gum-drops grow like cherries,

And taffy’s thick as peas–

Caramels you pick like berries

When, and where, and how you please;

Big red sugar-plums are clinging

To the cliffs beside that sea

Where the Dinkey-Bird is singing

In the amfalula tree!

So when children shout and scamper

And make merry all the day,

When there’s naught to put a damper

To the ardor of their play;

When I hear their laughter ringing,

Then I’m sure as sure can be

That the Dinkey-Bird is singing

In the amfalula tree!

For the Dinkey-Bird’s bravuras

And staccatos are so sweet–

His roulades, appoggiaturas,

And robustos so complete,

That the youth of every nation–

Be they near or far away–

Have especial delectation

In that gladsome roundelay.

Their eyes grow bright and brighter,

Their lungs begin to crow,

Their hearts get light and lighter,

And their cheeks are all aglow;

For an echo cometh bringing

The news to all and me,

That the Dinkey-Bird is singing

In the amfalula tree.

I’m sure you like to go there

To see your feathered friend–

And so many goodies grow there

You would like to comprehend!

Speed, little dreams, your winging

To that land across the sea

Where the Dinkey-Bird is singing

In the amfalula tree!
