APR 14, 15 .. THOSE ‘OF-THE-CLOTH’ .. CAP AND PATTI .. ENJOYING HONG KONG .. PART 1 OF 10

The above title .. THOSE ‘OF-THE-CLOTH’ .. refers to what I consider to be religious ‘professionals’. In this sense of the word a religious ‘professional’ is a person basically committed to the full time formal pursuit of carrying the message of their religious belief system to others.

In a vastly oversimplified statement religious ‘professionals’ are divided into two very broad categories.

Category I – Religious ‘professionals’ in this category are SINGLE and WITHOUT a family. Roman Catholic Priests fall into this category. One of the main reasons for this category is that the single person is much freer to totally devote their life pursuits to their religious belief system because they have no one outside of their religious order to account to for their time and endeavors. Basically there are fewer things between them and God. They are also less financially expensive to their religion because they are not supporting a spouse and/or a family.

Category II – Religious ‘professionals’ in this category are MARRIED. As but one for-instance .. the Jewish faith highly recommends marriage for a Rabbi so that they know from actual living experience the trials and tribulations .. joys and sorrows .. of the married life. I also found reference that the married Rabbi with children of his own may be a better teacher of children.

“What Captain does this have to do with anything?” .. “I thought you would never ask ‘Zilla!”

It has EVERYTHING do with my own personal life! Luckily I am able .. throughout the year .. to live in each of the above categories. Each of them have enormous advantages!

Right now I would not trade one single moment of the valuable time that Patti and I are sharing together here in Hong Kong! It is pure and simple such FUN AND JOY to have Patti right with me .. holding on tightly behind me .. as I am riding My Horse Of Life.

Hong Kong is a very scenic city .. in my humble opinion. Do I correctly assume you have not visited here? Put it on your bucket-list! Smiles ..

It was fun to see my name in your blog post. I sure did recognize Amy’s book and I’m thrilled it’s even in Hong Kong.

It’s obvious that you’re enjoying being with Patti. It’s a blessing for the two of you to be together. Your blog will always be there. The opportunities to enjoy the beauty around you is of utmost importance.

    Say Hi to Patti,
    Shaddy

Thanks Shaddy! Patti read your above comment and appreciated the HI! I was tickled to see YOUR BOOK on the table here in Hong Kong in the Downtown Central Business District! I just KNEW you would get a kick out of seeing it! Thanks for noticing and commenting! Life IS short .. YES it is a blessing to be sharing all of this joy!

I do not know if they would have any of his things over there or if you can watch YouTube, and of course you might not be interested at this time or any time, but I think you would really like Richard Rohr, who is a Franciscan Catholic Priest. I am not interested in much reading right now, but have been doing a little because it is so good. A couple that are excellent are, Breathing Under Water (on the 12 steps), and The Naked Now, as far as books, and Becoming Stillness is a great YouTube video.

Glad to hear you and Patti are enjoying Hong Kong

    Chad

Thanks so much for the recommendation(s) Chad. So happy you are following along here. I have not been on YouTube here in Hong Kong. Please send our best to your family Chad!
