MAY 25, 15 .. MEMORIAL DAY 2015 ..

In my entire life to this point .. the absolutely best decision I have made is when I enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps back in late January 1958. My PEBD (Pay Entry Base Date) was 29 January 1958. I still know my USMC serial number.

After completing my USMC service I received a commission in the U.S. Navy CBs as a Civil Engineering officer. So I served with the Marine Corps and the Navy.

My father served with the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII.

My oldest son Robb served with the U.S. Army.

My youngest son David served with the U.S. Air Force.

So as a family we have served in the above five U.S. Military Services.

On this Memorial Day I salute all who served before, during and after my service. I especially salute those who served when .. as a child during WWII .. I was too young to serve.

Proudly I Sign Off .. Cap ..

I heard someone say today that those who have no idea what it is like to serve in the armed services are enjoying the freedom and life they have BECAUSE of those who served. Powerful words. I am humbled and grateful for your service and the service of all the men and women who have contributed to make our country and my life what it is today. THANK YOU … Love, Patti

Your above words are indeed true. Your father and your brother and your nephew stepped up to the plate and served. Your nephew IS still serving as a career it looks like to me. I feel all I have achieved in my life was based solidly upon my experience in the Marine Corps. I could .. but I shan’t .. write a book. Love .. Cap ..
