OH YES I AM VERY LUCKY ! ..

How Many Of You Get To ‘Feast-Your-Eyes’ Upon Scenes Such As The Below!? An all-night international flight from Delhi to Hong Kong and I get to make it!

THE NIGHT FLIGHT FROM DELHI TO HONG KONG!!

Yesterday I did one thing that proved to be very smart. It was 4:30PM in the afternoon and it had been hot again in New Delhi. I was sweaty and my shirt was dripping wet. I had yet to fully pack for the flight from Delhi to Hong Kong BUT I decided suddenly to do the following.

Go out into the heat and buy some laundry detergent and come back to my room and wash my shirt so I would start out with a fresh clean sparkling shirt. I also washed myself with the surgical pre-wash Hibiclens that really gets you surgically clean under your arms.

In the extremely hot dry air my shirt dried in about twenty (20) minutes and was oh-so very fresh.

Then before I left my hotel I lay down in my room and rested for fifteen minutes in the cool of my air conditioned room.

So at 8:15PM out I went in EXCEPTIONAL PHYSICAL AND MENTAL CONDITION!

First I walked to the New Delhi Railway Station with my luggage. Then to the Pre-Paid Taxi Office where you pay a set amount and get a no-nonsense fair-deal to both yourself and to the taxi firm/driver on a ride to the airport (or any place else for that matter).

I paid IRS 400 (Indian Rupees) or US$ 6.29 and for-my-money I got an exceptional taxi driver. So exceptional that I ‘tipped’ him a full 100 Rupees on top of the agreed upon fare of 400 Rupees. He ‘teared up’ when I told him what a great ride it was as I shook his hand and gave him a hug and then put the 100 Rupee (I keep brand new clean bills for such gratuities) bill into his shirt pocket. He bowed and touched my right foot and we waved to each other as he drove slowly away.

Into the BEAUTIFUL Indira Gandhi International Airport Terminal I went.

I was inside the terminal at 9:10PM. My flight was at 1AM.

The staff said .. “Sir .. We don’t open the ticket counter until 10:15PM.” .. “Great! I will happily wait!”

ACES WILD! I was at my gate 19 at 11:11PM for my 1AM flight.

So too were a few others.

I was second aboard the aircraft and I settled in. We left on time and we arrived into Hong Kong on time a tad early. I had a front row bulkhead seat and I experienced a great flight with some friends.

I took the first class train into Hong Kong Central.

It just doesn’t get much better than this!

Home to Hong Kong .. Home to my ‘digs’ ..

Home to my bed ..

Home to my ninety (94) four square feet in Hong Kong.

Smiles .. Cap ..

A fun tid-bit. On my flight I sat next to a young man from India. When we got to Hong Kong we both got off the flight together and he went on ahead of me a rapid pace disappearing forever. I went to the rest room .. I then called Patti .. we visited .. I filled out my Immigration Paperwork .. stood in the long in-processing line .. got my bag .. and just .. Lolli-Gaggled all the time. As I got to the train who but my seat mate was beside me! We both howled and said .. “It must have been meant-to-be.” Run the statistical numbers on the above odds and they are staggering. So now I have a new friend .. Ajay Pahwa! A young .. high-roller C.E.O. per his business card.
