JUL 9, 15 .. A ‘ PHOENIX-LIKE ‘ RECOVERY FOR SIMON ..

A PHOENIX in Greek mythology is a long-lived bird that is cyclically regenerated or reborn. Associtated with the sun a PHOENIX obtains new life by arising from the ashes of its predecessor. In some versions of the legend the PHOENIX dies in a show of flames and combustion. Other versions of the legend state that the PHOENIX simply dies and decomposes before being reborn again.

The PHOENIX symbolizes renewal in general as well as the sun, time, metempsychosis, consecration, resurrection, the exceptional person, and has strong ties to Christian beliefs as well.

Let’s focus on: THE PHOENIX DIES IN A SHOW OF FLAMES AND COMBUSTION!

The topic here is Simon. The above certainly applies to Simon.

This evening of July 9th I had dinner with Simon. I went home to my apartment and wrote Patti the following:

9:30PM Thursday July 9th HKG .. 5:30AM in Alaska ..

MARK IT!  I JUST GOT BACK FROM DINNER with Simon.

OH MY ..

OH GOD OF ABRAHAM !

Simon has arisen, PHOENIX-LIKE, out of his ashes! A miracle Patti!

The bright, winsome, Simon you and I love has returned Patti. Yes-oh-yes his right knee and right foot toes are still bandaged but from the neck-up he-is-back. He is talking sense! Yes-oh-yes he still hopes to move out of this immediate area to get away from Winzy but rationally speaking he now plans to remain in Asia maybe Kuala Lumpur. And maybe simply remain here in the Hong Kong Metro Area but over in Kowloon. He has formally given-notice to City Loft that he will leave his place on August 5th. He has a place lined up in Mong Kok to check out.

Simon has money not-to-worry. I asked him about that subject and told him I would purchase airline miles from him in the event he wanted to get some money out of them. We may still do that but not out of necessity.

No talk of going back to Canada, to Switzerland, to Holland.

Silently, as if on cat’s paws, a light rain crept in as I napped before meeting Simon for dinner. When I walked out of 23 Mercer Street I was amazed at its wetness. Pho Tai (as were many if not most restaurants) was closed because we here in Hong Kong are experiencing heavy rains from a nearby Typhoon. Storm warning flag No. 8 was hoisted about 5PM. The Singapore Rice-Noodle restaurant almost directly across from Simon was open and we two ate Singapore Rice-Noodles.

11:15PM bed / sleeptime .. I love you ..

You either BELIEVE or you DON’T .. IF you BELIEVE then you just have to go with your faith no-matter-what. YES in my experience and in my opinion there certainly is room for DOUBT.

During our dinner together I kept telling Simon over and over and over again how great he looked and the amazing change from last Monday.

In a very long e-mail last Monday July the 6th .. to a few of you following along here with Simon and myself I wrote the following:

God .. Oh God Of Abraham .. What Is Happening Here ?  No .. YO Buffalo Springfield .. Something Is Happening Here .. What It Is Ain’t Exactly Clear ..

That summed up my feelings and frustration about and around Simon. Now THIS!

All you need to know to mess-with-your-rational-mind is the Old Testament Book of Job and what God puts Job through. It seems to me that Jesus of Nazareth came to tell us God is not really like that .. God loves us.

Is Simon a vision in front of me .. a vision in-my-face if you will .. about the power of prayer?

A certain few of you have e-mailed me about praying for Simon. Others have e-mailed me wondering WHY I am being so candid and open about Simon and his challenges.

Well for one thing .. Simon himself is very open and candid to the outside world about his issues.

Had I not written the reams that I have written about Simon .. nobody that I know would know a word about Simon ..

And here I am at the beginning above .. You BELIEVE or you  don’t believe. I have .. from the very start with Simon .. strongly believed that there is a message in all of this and that I have been tasked to share this message with you reading along here.

So into the Simon and Cap equation here come prayers for the two of us.  I have no idea whatsoever about how many prayers have been said for each of us but certainly many have been raised. Is this what this is about .. the power of prayer?

I asked Simon if he would like to receive some e-mails directly from some of you and he said .. “Sure. I don’t know how quickly I could reply but sure.”  So on the chance some of you would like to do so .. e-mail me and I will give you Simon’s e-mail address.

Where to now? I haven’t a clue. I am amazed and overwhelmed by what I have just seen in Simon.
