SEP 26, 15 .. A FEW .. FACES-OF-MONGOLIA ..

Yesterday I wrote ..

I could sit .. in one place .. all day .. and do nothing except photograph Mongolians! They fascinate me no end.

Below is your first photo looking out across one of the Mongolian Steppes. Trust me! There is no hill or small rise out in the immediate horizon. It is FLAT for as far as the eye can see!

The character of the ages on the faces here in Mongolia.

The below cow-puncher looks like he rode a Mongolian Pony into town from out-on-the-Steppes.

It is not totally unusual nor rare to see local Mongolians wearing traditional attire. They appear suddenly, walk past me and are gone before I can get my camera ready to snap their photograph. I need to just sit still and watch the Mongolian world walk past me. A bus stop would be a favorite place to set-up-shop.

The below gentleman is etched forever into my memory ..

Traditional Mongolian Attire!

I saw the below elderly couple walking toward me. Before I was ready to shoot the two of them straight-on they separated to go past the tree and my true photo opportunity was gone.

I photographed him as he walked past me .. the two of them .. Dressed-To-The-Nines!

A most graceful and ELEGANT couple! A prime example of what I am fascinated with on a daily basis. I just love the people.

Patti said that the above photo of the steer giving-me-the-eye is her favorite photo in this post. If you notice two photos above he is also looking-back-at-me .. giving-me-the-eye. He then walked back around the milepost marker and I snapped the above priceless photo!

Tom Tiger 48067 .. Help me out .. Is this a Detroit Tiger cap?

I KNOW my great buddy Detroit Tiger Tom that the below baseball caps are NOT Tiger caps Tom!!

I swear to goodness the below lad looks like he could suit-up in New York doesn’t he?!!

This gentleman just maybe possibly USED to suit-up in New York .. He looks like an elderly infielder .. shortstop maybe?

“Kanbaatar .. Out there in right field that afternoon sun is brutal. I really need these sunglasses!”

And they run out onto the field in New York ..

My Mongolian Cow Puncher is not so sure of this photographic business!! It is next-to-impossible to see it but try to notice my name tag. I am KAN .. and this is the REST OF THE KANBATTER story ..

I treasure seeing the old time traditional clothing that some wear .. Their inscrutable Asian faces ..

Stop the Presses .. I actually got one of my buddies Oldokh to smile! Notice Oldokh is dressed warmly and I am with a sweatshirt on beneath my dress shirt .. It IS sunny but the wind was blowing off the Steppes ..

It was 27F here in Ulaanbaatar this morning. I have this ‘hunch’ .. we are NOT  in a ‘warming’ trend here. IF anything .. the weather is going to get progressively COOLER ..
