OCT 3, 16 .. BREAKFAST AT THE AL FAREJ HOTEL and A VIEW OF MY DUBAI
- “Pardon me? What did you all just say?”
“Sahib, breakfast is included in your room tariff.”
Just in case you are looking at my AL FAREJ HOTEL series of Posts for the first time, let me show you a few photos of the hotel.
A few photos of my amazing room.
“I am paying US $58.94 for easily one of the best hotel rooms I have ever, in-my-entire-life, stayed in. Now you are telling me that breakfast is included in my room tariff?”
“Yes Sahib, go to our restaurant up on the roof level of the hotel. We hope you will enjoy your breakfast in the morning!”
“Well not bad at all. I can easily make-do with a roll / or a piece of toast and perhaps a small glass of juice.”
9AM, Sunday Morning, October the 2nd, 2016
“Oh come on! What have we here? A real restaurant!”
Below are what will become ‘My Two Tables’.
“What is this? A full menu? With choices? A Starter, A Main Course and A Desert? ” .. “Yes Sahib.”
“Lord God in Heaven Above? Have I just died here in Dubai? Am I now in Heaven Oh Lord God!”
The Starter is on the left. Greek olives, lettuce, carrots, cucumber and tomato slices. The Breakfast is on the right, a vegetable omelette with sausages, a grilled tomato and potatoes along with toast and jam.
And now for ‘Breakfast Desert’! A nice fruit bowl.
You Have Got To Be Kidding Me !
I am, in the final analysis, when it comes to my food, a Man-of-Great-Honor!
I cleaned up my table. I took my dishes to the kitchen. I thanked and I saluted the kitchen crew!
9AM, Monday morning, October the 3rd, 2016
I ask you to ‘take-note-of ‘ the silver chaffing dishes on the right in the photo below.
Will you all now ‘take-note-of ‘ the silver chaffing dishes on the left in the photo below.
Today I again sat at one of ‘My Two Tables’ off to the side of the main seating area.
And now?
Taa – Daa! We now enjoy my Monday morning Breakfast.
What have we here? The Starters are now buffet style. I can ingest a large quantity of ( on the left below ) my beloved Greek olives. Nice cheese in the center and watermelon slices below right.
Did each of you take-note-of the silver chaffing dishes as I asked you to do above?
Below we will now take-a-peek inside of them.
Fragrant cooked rice with a decorative tomato flower.
Good ol’ baked beans.
Very mild sausages ( lamb ).
Shrooms ( mushrooms ) just for you Patti.
Breakfast potatoes.
Fried tomatoes. Above and below I noticed the kitchen staff have a feel for what the guests are eating and they are not filling up the chaffing dishes with an over abundance of food which may not be eaten. Good thinking.
Hard boiled eggs cooked to perfection.
Cereal, coffee, jam, butter and bread for toast. You can toast your bread as-you-like!
Notice my dark toast and cup of Greek olives. I did NOT go crazy with the buffet.

The restaurant is on the roof level. I am ( ah-h-h-h ) a bit of an adventurer. I found out how I could get access to the roof of the hotel.

Does it look warm in these photos? Well it is an extremely cool, yet very dry warmth at 85 F.
MY Dubai. MY Dubai is real people living real lives.
Yes there is construction under way.
Can you believe all of the satellite dishes?
Study for a moment the below photo. I am looking-down from the roof at the view I see from my window. I will show it to you after you study this below photo.
The below photo was taken from my room through the double glass thermal window.

Your hotel just continues to amaze me, as it does you … breakfast included in your hotel fare … smiles and whoopies! It was great to see the restaurant, exciting to be on the roof, fun to see your neighborhood from the heights, see the street outside of your hotel … and yes, all the satellite dishes … everywhere … all over the world, even outside the gers in Mongolia! You are obviously having fun in Dubai … I am having fun reading your happiness. Love and hugs. Patti

Hmmm…. You might stay in that hotel forever. You might also become very spoiled….

Looks fine to me, Cap. But I also really liked my room at the Sunshine Hotel in Ulaanbaatar! And, I had breakfast every morning there, too.

Wow, I am very Hungry after seeing your lovely breakfast service! Watch out for your weight or you will be charged for ‘excessive’ costs for being beyond your weight allowance for your next leg of you flight to HK.

Too funny ‘Zilla. So far breakfast is the ONLY meal I am eating. And doing just fine. Smiling.
Just an observation: I notice the streets look exceptionally clean. Find out how that is when you go walkabout, okay? Is it the populace? Street cleaners?
Both. There are a multitude of ‘dumpsters’ available and there are also uniformed street sweepers. Will get into this in a future Post. Thanks for the insight. Cap
