NOV 23, 16 .. DUBAI .. THE BURJ KHALIFA ..

I awoke this morning. I had my plan.

1. First go physically to Ski Dubai in the Mall of the Emirates and confirm my paid-in-full appointment to take a ski lesson tomorrow, Thursday, the 24th of November.

2. After doing this, meet my friend Albert at 4pm to visit and say our goodbyes since I am flying to Hong Kong this upcoming Friday the 25th.

Then a thought occurred to me.

In going to the Mall of the Emirates, I have to pass the Dubai Mall on the metro. At the Dubai Mall sits The Burj Khalifa.

“The what Captain?” ..

The Burj Khalifa is considered by many tourist professionals to be the number one tourist attraction here in Dubai.

The Burj Khalifa is the tallest building / structure in the World.

So I decided that I would check out what it would take to visit the Burj Khalifa.

I went downstairs here in my hotel to see my friend Ahab, a tour professional with Rayna Tours here in Dubai.

“Ahab do you think that I should visit the Burj Khalifa?

“Yes! Absolutely for sure Cap.”

“I will see IF I can get you a space. It is usually 100% sold out if you wait until the day you want to go.”

“Good luck Cap. They are 100% sold out from 1pm for the rest of the day. IF you can go prior to 1pm I can get you a space.”

“Set me up for 12-noon Ahab.”

I left my hotel at 10:30am and was early to arrive at the Burj Khalifa by 11:35am. I presented my credentials provided by Ahab. Everything was in order.

“Do I have to wait until 12-noon or can I enter now?”

“Go right in now Sir. We hope you enjoy your visit.”

What an experience the Burj Khalifa was!

I cannot imagine having missed it.

I got to Ski Dubai at 2:30pm. Everything is in order for my ski lesson tomorrow. They even have size US 14 ski boots.

I met Albert at 4pm and we had a great one hour visit.

Home to my hotel I came. I ate dinner at the Delhi Restaurant across from my hotel and here I sit writing this Post.

Time to go to my room and get settled for tomorrow.

Call it a day-in-my-life. It was a lot busier than I have written above. I just hit the high lights for you all.

Cap

The Burj Khalifa, the tallest building/structure IN THE WORLD! For sure, you would not have wanted to miss that. We spoke a few times while you were at your top-most destination in the building … amazing … while you were there, I could speak to you from Alaska and feel like I was there with you. And, yes, it was a busier day for you than your post would indicate … judging from the various phone visits we had in your busy travels through your day. WHEW! Hugs … Patti

In the ‘background’ of yesterday, I was on-line with the malware service provider that had charged me two times for the same software that I downloaded twice that is compatible with WINDOWS 10. When that ‘issue’ has been resolved, and after I see LENOVO in Hong Kong, I want to put up a Post on blogspot about THE REST OF THAT STORY about my laptop being ‘serviced’ by an unknown benefactor!

What a ‘ten-strike’ it was to visit the Burj Khalifa! As you know from our many telephone calls, I was really ‘revved up’ about my visit. All because it fell in between my hotel and the Mall of the Emirates. A true God / it was meant to be phenomenon. Love, Cap.
