NOV 29, 18 .. THE BEGINNING OF MY SECOND MONTH IN RUSSIAN SIBERIA

Can it be?

It’s now official. At about 8am this morning, Thursday the 29th of November, I completed my first complete month here in Irkutsk and in Russian Siberia. I got off my AERO MONGOLIA flight North from Ulaanbaatar to Irkutsk somewhere around 8am on Monday the 29th of October 2018. I think that we ‘touched down’ around 7:30am.

What an absolutely great and wonderful month it has been. I’ve lived in two apartments in two different apartment buildings so I have a ‘real feel’ for that aspect of life here in Russia. The complex where I live when I am in Ulaanbaatar was built by the Russians.

The top red balloon in the below map shows the location of my current (and permanent as long as I remain here in Irkutsk) apartment.

The bottom red balloon shows the location of my first apartment. It is about a 12-minute walk building-entry-door-to-door between them. I am so fortunate that they are so close together because I did not lose the knowledge of the area that I gained while living for 2-weeks in my first apartment. In other words, I have now enjoyed a full month of living in the same area of Irkutsk.

A SPECIAL MOMENT ..

Today I spent a few hours visiting with Sergey. It is the first time that I have seen him in person since Saturday night, the 3rd of November. He was in the hospital here in Irkutsk for several weeks with some medical problems.

Below are three photos of the entrance to my building.

When you open the above door you see the below view.

Below is a closer look at the door at the top of the above stairs.

As Sergey and I walked up the above stairs, when we got to the above door, he quietly said to me :

“I found sobriety behind this door. The man who brought the fellowship and the program to Irkutsk lived here.”

This man and Sergey were the first two members here in Irkutsk. One man helping another. THAT is the magic!

Then I was showing Sergey one of my Posts and he spotted the below photo that was taken just up the street from my apartment.

It is Stepana Razina Street where I catch my Numer 1 Tram.

He quietly pointed to the left side of the above street and said : “I was born in a building up the street that no longer exists.”

Whew!

Talk about stunning coincidences. I am now living in the building where he found sobriety and I am also living in the part of Irkutsk where he was born.

Something is happening here.

I have published a Post on blogspot about a very special moment at The Irkutsk Circus.

I hope you will all look at it.

Tomorrow .. Friday the 30th of November .. I will fly from Irkutsk West to Kyzyl (Ka Zill) and began a new series of adventures.

Am I Lucky .. Or .. Am I Lucky!

It gives me goosebumps to know and see that you are in the neighborhood where Sergey was born, and in the very building where he found sobriety with the man who brought AA to Irkutsk. WOW. Something IS happening here. You are on a path that it would seem was destined for you to be on. Luck? Could be. I tend to think it is more a matter of following your heart. This post just leaves me saying, “Whew”. Love, Patti

Yes. I too felt one very large Whew. So too did Mike who had no idea as to Sergey’s history with this specific building. There certainly is a lot going on here. Beginning with my obsession to get here to Irkutsk dating to the Autumn of 2015. And now it’s time to pack up and to head for Kyzyl and an entirely new chapter in this book I am living. Much Love and Thanks for reviewing this Post .. Cap
