DEC 20, 18 .. A ROAD TRIP AND A MEETING .. ALL IN A DAY’S WORK

Thursday the 20th of December. My Oh My! Christmas day is fast approaching.

Today Mike and I, along with two friends here in Abakan, took a road trip to visit the Sayano–Shushenskaya Dam that is located near the village of Sayahogorsk.

Up until today, I have been indicating that the dam is North of Abakan. It is NOT. It is South of Abakan.

In the below map, you can see (lower left red balloon ) where the dam is located. The (upper right red balloon ) shows where Shushenskoye, a town where we stopped en route to the dam, is located.

En route to the dam, we stopped and had lunch in Shuskenskoe. I showed our lunch stop on blogspot.

I will do the post showing our visit to the dam on blogspot.

It was a full day. We left Abakan at 10:15am and it was 6:20pm when we got home to our flat. I was bushed but we had a meeting scheduled, so I took a 20-minute nap knowing we would be late to the meeting. I figured we’d get to the meeting as they were reading the preamble and format.

Assumptions! Tuesday and Wednesday evenings the meetings were at a cafe here in Abakan. These two meetings were large meetings of 40 to 50 people each. So this is what I was expecting.

Wrong on both counts. We did NOT meet at the cafe and there were only two kind members, both senior citizens, one gentleman and one lady, quietly waiting for us to appear. We ended up with 9 people in attendance, 4 of which were the four us us who went to the dam.

I profusely apologized for us being late, explained the reason why, and immediately shared about the importance of taking care of our health and not trying to be all things to all people in all places at all times. Then I discussed relapse because Alexander had told them in advance that I’d share about this topic. It turned out that the two who waited both had histories of relapse. I thought to myself, “I am so glad I came here to the meeting and did not beg-off because I was exhausted.”

A small, tight-knit group gathered around a table. I’ve got one game : My ‘A’ game. Two people or a room full, no matter, I give it all I have to give.

I dare say the two who waited for us were not disappointed.

Then?

They wanted a group photo! Mike was the 9th member and he shot the photos.

Notice a gentlemen, wearing a brown sweater, on my left, who knows how to wear his hair.

He and I really clicked. I wanted a photo of the two of us. He was the gentleman who was patiently waiting for us to show up.

Smile My Man!

That’s much better.

I feel good just looking at the above photos.

Still Smiling .. Cap

Thanks Greg for following along here and for your comment. Who would have ever thought that, when you and I met by chance (or did me meet through God’s Will Greg?) outside of the YMCA Dining Hall in New Delhi, India, on December 27th 1990 that, twenty eight (28) years later, here in 2018, we’d still be so in-touch! Amazing! Smiles Pard .. Cap

Quite a full day. Funny that the dam you went to was SOUTH, not NORTH, of Abakan. Life is always full of surprises! What a sweet looking group for your meeting last night. YES! You DO bring your “A” game every single time, speaking to an audience of a couple of hundred, or one-on-one. I have witnessed it in person. Smiles, love. Patti

I think that the Number One time ( of many times) that I brought my ‘A’ game to a very small meeting was in Sandusky, Ohio, in 1993, when I stood and delivered to a group of only 6 members. Within an hour, 100% because of the small meeting talk, I was standing before several hundred giving a talk. Then one year later, in October of 1994 you and I experienced the magic of re-visiting Sandusky and you yourself heard me share for the first time ever.

I am amazed that the dam we visited is South of Abakan. Absolutely positively amazed. I was positive that the large lake North of Abakan was created by the dam. Maybe it was but I don’t see how it could have done so without flooding the area South of Abakan. Much Love My Dear One. Cap
