JUL 8,19 .. WHEN DOES IT GET EASY
As you can see, after arriving here in Hong Kong last Friday, July the 5th, finally, on Monday the 8th, I am actually on-line.
Yes Oh Yes. Our hotel has Wi-Fi.
The Kowloon YMCA on Salisbury Road, a place I’ve been staying at for now well over twenty years, has Wi-Fi.
BUT I am not able to navigate it. I have Wi-Fi. But I am not able to use any bookmark, nor use Google to search while in the hotel.
Yesterday, Sunday the 7th, Patti and I went to lunch with a Lee a friend of ours at an upscale restaurant.
To get to this restaurant, we enjoyed a half-hour Ferry Boat ride across Victoria Harbor to Discovery Bay.
And?
I took my laptop with me.
And?
I successfully got-on-line while sitting at our table and was able to navigate to my hearts-content.
BUT.. I left and I visited with other friends of mine at another restaurant to give Patti and Lee time to really have a super quality visit. Below are photos of our lunch.
So I did not have the time to do a Post.
Now I am at a local Kowloon Library again successfully on-line and able to navigate my website here.
Smiles .. Cap and Patti (who is home in our air conditioned room. Hong Kong in July is a sweat bath. )

Enjoy Hong Kong and Kowloon. Anchorage, and especially where I am, is a sweat bath. Lots of smoke from wildfires and no relief in sight. The mountains are hidden and smoke is right down on the ground.
The fires are a solemn challenge. Some of the worst-sounding ever. In Russian Siberia they have the same issue. Unnerving. Cap
Hello Hong Kong & neighboring cities ! Cap – that must have been a very gut wrenching event on line – 5 (five) CC’s getting the thumbs down ? Wow. Food for thought – how dependent we have become on the ‘net. On July 10 2019 – could you even obtain a plane ticket with cash money ? Any way – be careful there with the street demonstrations going on. Maybe by the time Patti gets to AK – things may be cooled off. Bless & safe & trouble free travels for both of you. Tom
No Tom, I don’t think I could have gotten a ticket with cash. You have to find an airline office to begin with. You can’t do this, buy a ticket, AT the airport as far as I know. Gut wrenching is an understatement Tom. Well somehow I got through it the following day. Thanks for your support .. Cap
Interesting that your credit cards were declined. Next time, try calling the international assistance number of the back of the card. That might help.
