JUL 12, 19 .. FROM HONG KONG .. MY CREDIT CARD CHALLENGE .. CHAPTER 2 OF 2 CHAPTERS

VISA is a multi-national financial services company who is the parent of all Visa-branded credit cards. And now you have the problem.
VISA the company, the multi-national giant, not any of my banks, is the organization that declined my five VISA credit cards. Bing-Bing-Bing, one right after the other. I was not dealing with five individual banks. Oh no. I was dealing with VISA the company.
Repeat. As I was trying to purchase my airline ticket from Hong Kong to Irkutsk, my five consecutive VISA cards were denied by VISA the multi-national company.
I will repeat this yet again because this is the bottom root issue: The denial action taken on each of the five VISA credit cards was not by any of my banks who had issued me the VISA cards. It was taken by VISA the company.
For reasons I will never know, VISA the company, decided to refuse to approve the transactions I was attempting to make.
One of our friends suggested to me that I should have simply called the phone number on the back of the card.
You have got to be living a drama such as this. Sitting here in Hong Kong, in a library, getting five consecutive denials, wondering what-to-do-next.
Maybe some far away day, in the distant future, when I am in the U.S., able to use inexpensive telephone service, with the time to wait perhaps 30-minutes or who-knows-how-long to get assistance, I will attempt to call VISA the company and see what they say I should have done.
This is my story and I’m sticking to it.

I am wondering if you had filed travel notices with the banks if this could have been avoided. With some banks, you can do that online. However, I think the fact that you are in China was the first problem.
As I mentioned in another comment about this, I most certainly DID file Travel Notices with the banks, with each and every bank that I have a credit card with. China was one country that I specified I would be visiting. Once home I plan to call VISA the company and ask them about this experience.
Gullible, YES YES YES, and Oh-By-The-Way, YES indeed, advising my banks is a first-thing-to-do when I am going out of the country. I have been doing this for about forty five years since I moved to West Germany back, way-back, in July of 1974, when VISA was a brand new phenomenon piloted by Bank of America in San Francisco.
I have had no problems in Korea, Mongolia, and Russia on this trip. None what-so-ever.
Then, after the five denials, the next day I got approved and I had done absolutely nothing.
Go figure. I can’t.
