SEP 5, 19 .. SEPTEMBER 5th 1936 – SEPTEMBER 5th 2019 .. THAT’S MY LIFELINE TO DATE

Today’s Rhetorical Issue :

When to celebrate one’s Birthday when one has World Time Zone Issues.

I was born at 0552 hours (5:52 am) in the Eastern United States Time Zone.

Sitting in Irkutsk, Russian Siberia, the date is September 5th. At this instant in the United States, from coast to coast, it is September 4th. So am I to wait until September 5th in the United States?

That is hard to do when here and now in my world it IS September 5th.

The Answer :

There are two issues here:

1. Birth Date. No matter where I am, my birth date is September 5th.

2. Age. At this instant, my age is 82 years. I have not yet lived past 0552 hours (5:52 am) in the United States Eastern Time Zone.

Happily we will hit a ‘sweet zone’ when both in the United States, and here in Irkutsk, Russian Siberia, it will be September 5th.

Patti, the signs that Summer is over and Autumn is progressing are starkly evident in the below photos that I snapped yesterday evening when you (in spirit) and I (in body) were beside the Angara River Boat Cruise Dock.

As you look at the first three photos below:

Do you notice that anything is missing?

The Cafe and all of its tables and chairs are shut down and put away for the winter.

Sigh. How many hours have we spent sitting looking down upon the above scene with Arctic Terns swarming around and people sitting out eating and enjoying their day?

One upcoming day, one boat will be the last boat for the year 2019.

Will it be this boat? I doubt it. But maybe this weekend will close the Angara River Cruise Season.

The flower gardens at our very own Angara River Special Place are still growing and flourishing.

The first five photos were taken some weeks ago.

The lower photos were taken last evening September 4th. Can you see the difference in them?

Just compare these two above (last night) and below (a few weeks ago).

Well what do you think of last nights flower beds at our favorite Angara River Flower Bed location?

Much Love.. Cap

Nice to be back along the Angara River Walk with you once again. The flowers WERE brighter a few weeks ago, but they are still making quite a statement! Happy Birthday in your part of the world!! Love, Patti
