OCT 7, 19 .. HI HO .. HI HO .. OFF TO THE DENTIST I GO ..

I am writing this in the first person. I was NOT alone. My friend’s wife was with me each and every single-step-of-the-way. She met me at the Opera House and walked me to the dental office. She personally introduced me to the Director of the Clinic and to some of his staff. Ladies and Gentlemen, Sports Fans everywhere, your Captain is not walking around here alone. Your Captain has a phenomenal team behind him.

The time had finally come for me to see a dentist, since it’s been well over a full year.

Just last Saturday I asked my best of friends here in Ulaanbaatar who their dentist is and instantly I had an appointment. I mean snap-your-fingers and they’d called and I was on the schedule for 1300 hours Monday afternoon.

Here we go, off to the dentist.

Below are scenes of Chinggis Khaan Square in the very heart of downtown Ulaanbaatar. I had to cut through this square to get to my dentist.

How can a person NOT snap a photo of the Blue Sky Hotel and Tower off to your right as you walk into Chinggis Khaan Square?

Looking to my right from the above scene, in the distance is the Ulaanbaatar Opera House. The short, pink building on the right.

Below is a closer look at the Opera House. In both the above and below photos, to the immediate left of the Opera House, is a tall, white building. That is where I’m heading.

I am going to cut through the small street beside the Opera House to get to my building.

In the below photo, the pink building on the lower left is the back of the Opera House. The City Center / City Tower is where I’m headed.

Whew huh!

Inside I go.

Up to the 6th floor I go.

Voila! I have arrived at my first appointment with my Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, dentist.

Into the office I go. But first everyone puts on sanitary plastic booties.

Can you see everyone is wearing plastic booties?

I don’t know what I was expecting. But whatever I was expecting, it was NOT what I found. That is my stuff scattered all over the place.

A close up photo of the display on the wall shown in the above two photos.

I texted my wife Patti that.. “Never-ever in my entire 83 years have I seen a dental office even vaguely approaching the elegance of this one.” And I hadn’t yet seen where the dental procedures are performed.

The time has come to get my teeth cleaned.

First a state-of-the-art, wrap-around my head, X-ray of my teeth.

My dentist could not believe that, at age 83 years, I had 100% of my natural teeth. He said 95% of Mongolian men my age have few teeth let alone all of them. Well not all Mongolian men live to be 83 years of age.

I was stunned when I looked into the room we were going into.

Oh My! Oh My! State of the Art and well past anything I’ve ever seen in the U.S.

Blinded By The Light ..

My Dentist / My Dental Technician had State-of-the-Art dental tools I’ve never ever seen before. Amazing. Absolutely, totally amazing! Never have I had my teeth cleaned like this. And this includes my Hong Kong Dentist.

Oh yes. Sure. They have other offices where other dental procedures are performed.

What the heck. I think that I’ll get a little more done than having my teeth cleaned.

While I’m here, I think that I’ll have them make me a new dental-night-guard for my teeth.

Well Hello Mister Purple Elephant.

I’m loving this ride.

Now the stunner.

Are you ready.

The cost..

For dental X-rays and for cleaning my teeth was..

United States Dollars..

Sixteen Dollars and Ninety One Cents..

U.S. $16.91.

Oh My! Oh My!

I’ll sign off..

I enjoyed the walk to your Mongolian dentist through the pictures. Talk about State of the Art office and equipment .. VERY impressive. Thanks to our good friends there in Ulaanbaatar you were obviously in good, professional hands! The minimal cost blew me away!! Wowie . . I know how good that feels to have our teeth cleaned. Smiling! Hugs. Patti

You can’t imagine the outstanding job they did with their state-of-the-art equipment. The place I most notice a good job is on the interior side of the front six teeth of the lower jaw. I can’t comprehend the cost (including state-of-the-art X-rays of my teeth) in U.S. Dollars being $16.91. I’m pleased that you liked seeing where the office is located. Right in the center of the downtown ‘high rent district’ of Ulaanbaatar. Beautiful state-of-the-art building. Love Cap

Happy you enjoyed the walk there. I felt it would really help bring it back to refresh you memory of Ulaanbaatar and downtown. I think YOU could come here and find it easily. Behind the Opera House. Much Love. Amazing experience. Absolutely amazing. Cap

    Hi Cap,
Well, no doubt about it, your trip to a beautiful dental office is very nifty! Of course, it’s very interesting to see a very modern setup – sometimes, not knowing enough about Monglonia you really don’t know what to expect!! Super nifty!

When I walked into this office I was SHOCKED. I was STUNNED. I could NOT believe my eyes. It is beyond PHENOMENAL. Then it went uphill from there. The most modern dental tools and procedures, the latest X-Ray techniques, and the staff were superb. AMAZING. Thanks for looking this post over. Cap and Patti
