JAN 28, 20 .. MORE MAYO CLINIC NEWS .. AND YET ANOTHER PHOENIX RESTAURANT

So let’s begin here with a link over to blogspot to show you lunch after our day-at-the-Mayo-Clinics (yes plural) we visited two different Mayo Clinic / Mayo Hospital venues today..

To begin with .. No No NO .. So far we have not yet seen a doctor to discuss this most challenging coughing episode of Patti’s that is now in its sixth week. We hope to see a lung specialist this upcoming Thursday. It is extremely serious and shows no signs of stopping.

Today I had an appointment with a Mayo Opthamologist to discuss my diagnosis of Macular Degeneration. My Opthamologist in Anchorage flatly told me that I am losing my eyesight. This is not news one wants to hear. My Mayo Opthamologist flatly said, “You do NOT need to make an appointment to get a seeing-eye-dog anytime soon!” This is good news to yours truly!

Patti’s major appointment was to get spinal, epidural steroid injections into her low spine to help with the ongoing pain she is / and has been experiencing for over 20 years. Yes Patti has had three prior treatments but they do not last a lifetime and must periodically be renewed. All went exceedingly well. She got yet another in a never ending series of exceptional Mayo Clinic doctors. It will take a week to 10 days before the final effects are felt but psychologically she already feels better.

Short. Sweet. All Good News.

More appointments upcoming for both of us through Friday.

I hope they find the answer to Patti’s recurrent coughing problems. As for your macular degeneration, I’m right there with you and facing the same outcome. Not a pleasant thing to anticipate, for sure. Best to the both of you.

Let me, allow me, to tell you this. My ophthalmologist in Anchorage painted for me a far FAR more bleak picture than did my Mayo Clinic ophthalmologist. For what that is worth. I said to my Mayo ophthalmologist : “Do you mean that I should cancel my plans to get a seeing-eye-dog?” He smiled and said “Yes indeed.” Smiling at this.. Cap
