JUN 1, 20 .. SUMMER 2020 .. PATTI LOVES HER FLOWERS .. PART 7

Here in Anchorage, Alaska, in my humble opinion, IF there is indeed one-most-famous flower-nursery, it would have to be Bell’s Nursery.

Last Thursday, out and off Patti and I went to pay our first visit to Bell’s Nursery this year. Bell’s Nursery is located off the Seward Highway at De Armoun Road in the extreme South end of Anchorage. The fact is, that for many years, I didn’t have any idea that there were MANY other Nurseries here in Anchorage. I found out that there are many including those at Walmart, Home Depot (several locations), Lowe’s, Tryck Nursery, Uptown Blossoms, Arthur Campbell Nursery, Faltz Landscaping and Nursery, Mylords Floral, The Green Connection, Southside Gardens, Dimond Greenhouses, Bagoy’s Florist, Forget-Me-Not Nursery, Fred Meyer Garden Center, Alaska Mill Feed and Garden Center,  to .. name .. but .. a .. few!

Into Bell’s Nursery we proceed.

The Time Had Come To Head Home to do some planting.

Towards the left side of our living room porch in the below photo, do you all see the empty, hanging-basket?

Patti is going to plant this hanging basket.

Here we go with Patti.

VOLIA ! The Hanging Basket is finished (at least for now).

The final ‘finishing-touch’ for today.

Here is how our living room porch looks at the end of today.

As we publish this post, it looks like Patti will be finishing her 2020 planting tomorrow. We shall see.

Hugs from Patti and Smiles from Cap

By-The-Way ! As Patti was planting the hanging basket, I too was busy weeding a few dandilions.

  1. Gullible

Love seeing all the flowers Patti is planting. She needs to make up for a couple years without them.

Most of the places you mentioned–WalMart, Fred’s, Home Depot, and even Alaska Mill and Feed– aren’t nurseries per se. They buy flowers from the nurseries to sell retail.

Truer words were never spoken Gullible. Patti has indeed missed her summer flowers in recent years and is getting great comfort and satisfactions from her efforts to date here in 2020. Thanks for your support. Cap

Great to see ! I do sometimes get a bit ‘homesick’ for my garden & nice little back yard – BUT- I do NOT miss all the mowing, raking, and snow shoveling of a Michigan yard !
