SEP 27, 21 (2/2) .. WHAT IS IN A DATE ON THE CALENDAR ??

Don’t say that I didn’t warn you with two of this Post’s subtitles : Delete before reading! and Does anyone care?

Well I care and for whatever reason, I wanted to revisit September 27th back in 2020 and 2019. Call it cathartic ! BUT I am going to begin with today !

TODAY..

SEPTEMBER 27th, 2021..

HAS BEEN A GLORIOUS DAY..

Patti continues to feel better after her surgery last Wednesday. We took a nice walk in the late afternoon. Both of us got a few items off our to-do lists.

Will you look at our afternoon.

Out in front of our Condo.

Photos from the Bridge in Sitka Street Park.

The playground. Can you see the snow on the mountain in the far background?

Now back in time we will go.

ONE YEAR AGO TODAY..

SEPTEMBER 27th, 2020..

I TOOK A BAD FALL ..

One year ago, it was Sunday the 27th of September 2020, Patti and I were up in Manley Hot Springs, enjoying our cabin there. In the late evening, I had a very easy fall, I just sort of slipped down to the ground (I was sitting on my folding cane-chair). Patti came over to assist me. As she helped me get onto my feet, suddenly she fell into me and, with Patti on top of me, down we went, slamming my right arm (from hand up to my shoulder) onto the running board of our Chevrolet Suburban Truck. Had my head hit the running board, I could have died on the spot.

The below Post tells the story.

What’s the point? So what?

I don’t want to relearn the painful lessons that followed this fall. Several months of medical appointments and ongoing physical therapy. Yes! I am (call it 95%) almost back to normal but remain ever vigilant about falling again.

NO it wasn’t my first bad fall.

In March of 2004, I fell and broke my left knee cap in two places.

On November 25th of 2016, I fell in the Dubai, United Arab Emirates Airport, and broke my left hip. Flying from Dubai to Hong Kong (with a 3 day layover) and on to Seattle, Washington and down to Phoenix, Arizona, where the medical staff at the Mayo Clinic replaced my left hip, is another event I don’t want to repeat.

TWO  YEARS AGO TODAY..

SEPTEMBER 27th, 2019 ..

I CELEBRATED MY VERY FIRST SMARTPHONE..

The below link will take you back two years to this wonderful, life changing, event.

To our pal Gord 48025 : Gord, we now have (not one but) four (4) smartphones with two more being activated soon. It’s too long a story to go into here but we actually have a reason for ending up with six (6) of these rascals.

Enough huh? Well I warned you.

Still Smiling .. Cap and Patti
