JAN 18, 14 (2/2) .. ICE HOCKEY IN ANCHORAGE ALASKA
I know! Oh yes-I-know! MORE ICE HOCKEY some of you may ‘groan’! Well I get-on-a-roll and so YES .. MORE ICE HOCKEY .. Smiles .. Cap ..
Then again .. I never ever got so much as one-itsy-bitsy-teeny-weeny bit tired of Gullible’s many Penguin Photos ..

A day-or-so ago .. Patti and I were just ‘kicking-back’ here in our condo in Anchorage Alaska in the United States .. looking out at the winter snow .. listening to Sports-Talk-Radio ..
When suddenly we heard the following: “Go to your local Subway Sandwich Shop .. buy a ‘footlong Subway Sandwich’ for six ($6) dollars .. and you will get a voucher to attend this evening’s Alaska Aces Ice Hockey Game for only five ($5) dollars each ticket.”
WOW! Dinner (a Subway Foot-Long sandwich) and a hockey game for only eleven ($11) dollars!
We USUALLY pay fifty ($50) dollars for a pair of game-tickets and then at-the-game we purchase Subway sandwiches so THIS-WAS-A-DEAL THANK YOU VERY MUCH! Ten ($10) dollars as opposed to fifty ($50) dollars for the two-of-us to see an Aces game. Later Patti and I found out at the game from fans sitting behind us that one of the owners of the Alaska Aces Ice Hockey Team also owns the local Anchorage Alaska Subway Sandwich Shops.
“What’s that you ask me ‘Zilla?” .. “Why do I keep repeating some terms such as Anchorage Alaska instead of just Anchorage?” .. “Because there are readers in India and possibly other countries reading along with us here that are practicing their english language skills and they may not quite understand what Anchorage is so by adding Alaska to Anchorage hopefully they will understand I am talking about a city in a state within the United States.” .. “Yes ‘Zilla .. that was indeed quite a sentence! Not a really good example of english sentence structure!” ..
“Yes ‘Zilla this is indeed a little over-kill.”
In this post (Part VI) and the one (Part VII) following below are some additional photos of scenes from our most recent Alaska Aces ice hockey game. Patti and I have attended three Aces games this past week-or-so. Please see Parts I through V dated Janaury 11th following this new series of two posts for my previous photo-shoot of recent ice hockey games.

I will begin with a series of photographs of our most favorite Subway Sandwich Shop here in Anchorage Alaska. This ‘Subway’ is located off the New Seward Highway just south of the intersection with Benson Blvd.
In the right foreground of the above photo is our sweet little Silver Gray Honda.
The ‘Subway’ logo is unique and is common all over the United States.
OK inside we go. Neat and Tidy and Clean.
You wait-in-line at the counter to the left in these two photos and your ‘Sub’ is made exactly as you like. There are MANY selections of meat and fresh vegetables for you to choose from for your ‘Subway’ sandwich.
Below are photos of one of our favorite Subway Foot-Long Sandwiches .. Tuna with all of the trimmings! WILL YOU ALL FEAST-YOUR-EYES ON THIS BEAUTIFUL SANDWICH!
I am here-to-tell you who have never had a ‘Subway Foot-Long’ they are ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY WONDERFUL!
And with our ‘Foot-Long’ I was handed NOT one .. NOT two .. but THREE vouchers to be used for future $5 tickets to an Aces game!
I will interject a quick-aside here. My great friend of thirty eight years .. ‘Zilla .. came up to Alaska to visit me back in the year 2001. After ‘Zilla and I had visited MANY MANY different Subway Sandwich Shops literally all-over-the-state .. poor ‘Zilla moaned to me .. “Cap! I did not come up to Alaska to see and to eat in each and in every ‘Subway’ in Alaska!”
Now let’s all go to the Alaska Aces Ticket Office and buy tickets for the game.
The entrance to the Aces Ticket Office shown above is at the rear of the building.
Our proud little Honda is to the right above. Our Chevrolet Suburban .. Mister R. Richardson Richtoffen .. is home sleeping under his blanket of snow. You have to look carefully in the below photograph to see him! Look to the right of the tree shown below and you can see his front license plate ‘peeking out’.
And into the Alaska Aces Ticket Office we all go!
The sales of team souvenirs is BIG BUSINESS here in the United States and elsewhere in the world!
And below you see the ‘business end’ of the office .. the Ticket Counters.
GOT ‘EM! Our tickets for the game!
In the next post below we will go to the Sullivan Arena here in Anchorage Alaska and see the hockey game!
