MAR 20, 22 .. THE FIRST DAY OF SPRING 2022 .. THE VERNAL (SPRING) EQUINOX

What is the Equinox ?

It is the day in the Spring (Vernal Equinox) or in the Autumn (Autumnal equinox) when the sun crosses the celestial equator, and day and night are of approximately equal length (about September 22 and March 20). For celestial reasons, the exact time of each Equinox will vary from year to year.

Here are the exact times across the United States of the 2022 Spring (Vernal) Equinox.

The 2022 Spring Equinox is at 11:33 a.m. EasternDaylightTime, 10:33 a.m. CentralDT, 9:33 a.m. MountainDT, 8:33 a.m. PacificDT and 7:33a.m. AlaskaDT.

It is of much interest up in Alaska because the day of the Spring (Vernal) Equinox marks the turning point when daylight begins to win out over darkness.

To save you from so doing, the below links will give you (probably more than you want to know) much more information about the Equinoxes.
