How on earth can we “wrap our minds around that” ! The end of the NFL season is upon us ! Where Oh Where does the time go?
TODAY the San Francisco 49ers visit the Philadelphia Eagles to decide who is the NFL National Football Conference Champion and one Super Bowl team.
TODAY the Cincinnati Bengals visit the Kansas City Chief to decide who is the NFL American Football Conference Champion and the other Super Bowl team.
Todays Rhetorical Question : Are Patti and I the only football fans ?? I think not!! Check out our local Smith’s Grocery Store bakery section.

Luckily for us, after the football season is over, Patti and I transition into the NBA (National Basketball Association) season. Then there is also March Madness as well.

The Twilight Zone
What life changing event happened to me sixty five (65) years ago today on January the 29th, 1958 ?
Sixty Five (65 how can I wrap my mind around this ! ) years ago today, it was a cold, snowy, gray, dismal winter day in the Detroit, Michigan, metropolitan area that I shall never forget, I officially and formally enlisted in the United States Marine Corps.
To this instant in time, my enlisting in the Marine Corps is the best and the most important decision in my entire life !

FUN – Lets Have Some
Some fun with Ginny, our Ally in Laughlin, Nevada.
Before we got our apartment here in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, Patti and I were (and have been for the last 6 years dating back to November 28th 2016) spending our winters living in hotel and motel rooms. To keep things to the minimum (Oh Gullible ! STOP laughing ! ) Patti and I did not want to purchase the large jugs of laundry soap to keep moving around.
Enter Ginny into our little scheme of life.
A month ago I asked Ginny to fill a small, 11 ounce bottle with laundry detergent. I am fussy about laundry detergent and I get ALL brand laundry detergent with NO perfumes NO dyes. But I did not ask Ginny what brand she used. Great sport that Ginny is, she obliged and out and off Patti and I went, back to our motel room with our small bottle of laundry detergent.
Over the past month I have used up Ginny’s supply of laundry detergent and despite my preference for ALL brand, I absolutely had to admit that Ginny’s detergent was phenomenal. Excellent. Outstanding.
I asked Ginny for the brand name of her detergent. She didn’t know its name BUT Ginny said (1) she got it at Dollar Tree and (2) sent me the below photo taken in her apartment.
So armed with the above photo, yesterday out and off to Dollar Tree I went.
In Dollar Tree, I found a vast array of laundry detergents BUT suddenly I found the detergent that looks exactly like Ginny’s photo.
What is its brand name ? Made in the U.S.A. it’s .. LA’s Totally Awesome Laundry Detergent !
Thanks Ginny. Happiness sure is DIFFERENT THINGS isn’t it ?

Cap and Patti
This nagging, challenging, LONG COVID (horrific coughing, a bad “cold” and Patti slept much of the day until I woke her up late this afternoon insisting that she drink a good quantity of Gatorade) is such a problem for Patti. Just to be sure we did another ( our second in two days ) Covid test and, as it was yesterday, Patti is still negative. These home tests are wonderful. It sure helps to know she does not have Covid.

Thank You ( dare we continue to call you Kitty Catherine? ) Kitty for your comment. You can, and we DO, dress for the chilly temperatures when we are at home in Anchorage. How Kitty does one “dress” for temperatures well into the 110°F range and warmer summer heat down here ? Smiling .. Cap and Patti who is really struggling with LONG Covid.
Are you sure Patti doesn’t have just a cold? Or flu? Both are going around.
Whatever she has, I hope she recovers soon.

Interesting Gullible. Very interesting. What to say? To this point in time, MY OWN ACTUAL EXPERIENCE has been nothing short of very satisfying. Not one of the issues mentioned in the link you sent applies to my experience. Not one. No bleach burns. No skin issues. No blue dyes. None of them. What to say? I am at a loss for more words on the subject. My bottle is NOT Red. My bottle is NOT Green. My bottle is Blue. I Googled LA’S Totally Awesome and saw nothing negative. All made in the U.S.A. They employ a lot of people. What else to say? Cap
If it works for you, it’s fine. Some people just have reactions to products that don’t bother anyone else.
I visited a friend once and apparently touched something that my skin reacted to. I had a bright red hand print on my face after touching it.
Wow ! Now THAT’S a wow ! A bright red hand print on your face. Go figure.
I wish I had seen this earlier. I went out for a haircut today and stopped in at the dollar tree 3 doors down. I like their canned coconut milk (I use it to make coffee creamer that is like clotted cream. Other versions don’t have the consistency that I like.) Also, their pet toys. I have spent more than a few dollars buying toys for my cats. They seem to prefer the toys from the dollar tree.
Prayers for Patti. Viral illnesses are brutal.
