For What It’s Worth, I wrote and published this Post while sitting with Patti in the Burger King Restaurant located in the Las Vegas Nevada Harry Reid / McCarran International Airport.

Patti and I checked out of our Edgewater Hotel on time (11am) and drove to Tom and Ginny’s apartment here in Laughlin, Nevada. Tom is back visiting family in the greater Detroit, Michigan area and neighboring cities (as Tom likes to say).

I did some organizing in the back of our GMC Suburban, and then took a 1 hour 15 minute nap, while Patti and Ginny visited and had a great time.

Our flight was scheduled to depart from Las Vegas at 7:10pm with expected arrival into Anchorage at 11:38pm (local time in Anchorage).

So far, all is well that goes well. With Ginny driving, we pulled out of Laughlin at 3:07pm heading for Las Vegas. We stopped in Searchlight, Nevada, for a quick break.

Then off to the Las Vegas Airport. We pulled up to Alaska Airlines departure area at 5pm in great time for our 7:10pm departure.

Oh My ! Oh My !

Sir your 7:10pm flight has been delayed until 10pm or later !

More to follow when we arrive into Anchorage and get settled in.

The Internet here at The Harry Reid Las Vegas International Airport is blazing fast and free !

Yes. Yes indeed. The name of the Las Vegas Airport was changed. 73 years after being named for Nevada’s Sen. Patrick McCarran, Las Vegas Airport officially changed its name to The Harry Reid International Airport on December 14, 2021.

Google and Wikipedia and all of our internet sources are amazing! Now I know about the above story.

Much Joy .. Cap and Patti

More to follow.

My dear Cap and Patti, indeed a marvelous visit with Patti and so glad you got a much needed rest (you actually needed more than any of us knew) not knowing that you’d be delayed at airport. Beautiful drive the 3 of us enjoyed, now praying you onto Anchorage! Lots of love and hugs Ginikins ❤️

Ah yes Ginny. Neither of us needed the three plus hours extra time we spent in the Las Vegas Airport. It sure is good to be back up here. Surprisingly neither of us felt cold with our temperatures in the 40s. We knew what the temperature would be and thought we’d feel cold but haven’t at all. One thing, I brought a hooded sweatshirt with me on the flight and I needed it because I did feel cold on the aircraft. Go figure huh? Great visit, short but oh so sweet. Cap and Patti
