D-DAY OFF THE WEST (NORMANDY) COAST OF FRANCE.."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #993300;\"><em>Who cares?\u00a0<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #993300;\"><em>Well, I for one care!<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #993300;\"><em>And so too do many others who realize just what D-Day, June 6, 1944, meant in World War II.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #993300;\"><em>The &#8216;numbers&#8217; are absolutely staggering.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.history.com\/topics\/world-war-ii\/d-day\">https:\/\/www.history.com\/topics\/world-war-ii\/d-day<\/a>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Normandy_landings\">https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Normandy_landings<\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #993300;\"><em>I was but 7 years of age (almost 8 years) and even I knew D-Day was something really big. At the time, little did I know that Bernie Baldwin, the older brother of a childhood friend Ed Baldwin, participated in the D-Day operation as a member of the U.S Navy as did a cousin of another of my childhood friends Bob Kelly.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 24pt; color: #ff0000;\">TO YOU WHO PARTICIPATED IN D-DAY<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 24pt; color: #ff0000;\">I HONOR.. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 24pt; color: #ff0000;\">AND I SALUTE..<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 24pt; color: #ff0000;\">AND I THANK YOU.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #993300;\"><em>May you never be forgotten.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #993300;\"><em>Cap and Patti\u00a0<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Who cares?\u00a0 Well, I for one care!
