Like them, Love them, or Hate them, because of the overall age of you senior citizens who are following along with Patti and me, we assume all of you know who the Beatles, from Liverpool England were, and that they burst upon us here in the United States on the Ed Sullivan Television Show on the 9th of February 1964.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

According to the Nielsen rating service, it was “the largest audience that had ever been recorded for an American television program”!<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Music lovers worldwide come together to celebrate Global Beatles Day<\/span><\/em><\/span> on June 25. The occasion pays tribute to The Beatles and the impact they had on both music history and pop culture. Paul McCartney, John Lennon, Ringo Starr, and George Harrison first recorded together as a foursome in 1962 \u2014 after producer George Martin fired original drummer Pete Best. The band\u2019s work throughout the decade remains unparalleled in pop music.<\/p>\n

The Beatles were a rock band that formed in 1960. After the original drummer Pete Best was fired, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr went on to be known as the \u201cFab Four\u201d. The initial beginnings of the band were actually happening in 1957, but they went through a few name changes before settling on The Beatles in 1960.<\/p>\n

A bunch of smash hits later they were performing All You Need Is Love to 400 million people via the first global live TV link, with the broadcast reaching 26 different countries simultaneously. This huge moment in pop culture history took place on June 25, 1967, and is the reason why Global Beatles Day is celebrated on June 25 every year.<\/p>\n

Global Beatles Day was founded in 2009, and we use it to celebrate not only their music but also their message of peace and love. After all is said and done, the Beatles spread the message to their fans that we can all live in a peaceful world. The Beatles spread positivity to their fans by encouraging them to love everyone, express gratitude, and to fight for peace. They played a role in influencing societal attitudes. Today, we all recognize their classic hit, \u201cAll You Need Is Love.\u201d<\/p>\n

THE STANLEY CUP, ICE HOCKEY CHAMPIONSHIP..<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

For the first time in some many years, Patti and I really (as in REALLY<\/span>) got involved in this years National Hockey League, Stanley Cup Finals, between the Florida Panthers and the Edmonton Oilers. <\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

We watched each, and every one, of the seven games played in what turned out to be a (because we wanted Florida to win their first ever Stanley Cup Championship) rather tense and stressful final four games. Florida won the first 3 games and Edmonton won the next 3 games, leading to a game 7! As we hoped, Florida won game 7 by a very close score of 2 – 1.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

We’re not sure if we will get this involved in future Stanley Cup Finals. Ice Hockey games are not very relaxing to watch.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n
