Many an evening comes, when I sit down here to write a Post, I don’t have a “clue in a carload” as to what I am going to write.<\/p>\n

However as yesterday (a\/k\/a Wednesday the 5th of March 2025) “unfolded” I said to myself, “All I have to do is to share this craziness with our readers!”<\/p>\n

TWO DINGA-LINGS DON’T MAKE A BELL RING..<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Below are the Two Dinga-Lings..<\/p>\n

We have Tim ..<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Tim’s last name begins with the letter “I”. So he also goes by Tim “I” or Timi.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

And we have your very own “Captain”.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Tim texted me yesterday asking “How are you doing Cap?”<\/p>\n

I replied with a photo.. Saying “Tim how does it look like I am doing. No Wheels.”<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Tim did not reply. I texted Tim and said, “Don’t you open the links or look at the photos I send you Tim?<\/p>\n

Tim said something like.. “Oh Hell Yes I Do!”<\/p>\n

Then Tim texted, “Cap I am on my way with a truck you can drive!”<\/p>\n

I said .. “NO NO NO Tim. There is a chance I will get our truck back this afternoon! I don’t want nor need your truck just yet!”<\/p>\n

Tim, “I am halfway there Cap!”<\/p>\n

And in a “New York Minute Tim was in front.”<\/p>\n

I hopped into his “Almost, brand spanking new from the car dealer’s showroom 18 year old 2006 Ford Super Duty extended cab pickup truck.”<\/p>\n

Back to Tim’s place we rolled.<\/p>\n

– – – – – – – –<\/span><\/p>\n

CELL PHONE.. SMART PHONE.. Users..<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

We have three distinct types.<\/p>\n

Type 1 .. 20% have Smart Cell Phones, they know how to use them, BUT seldom if EVER use them.<\/p>\n

Type 2 .. 70% are normal users.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Type 3 .. 10% are “rat-a-tat-tat” instant responders that almost live with their phones beside them. These same 10% usually insist on being the last one in a string of test messages.<\/p>\n

Tim “leans towards<\/em><\/span> being a Type 3″ Smart Cell Phone user especially IF there is something of importance “coming down”.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

So out and off I drive, back to our apartment, in Tim’s like new, 18 year old 2006 Ford Super Duty pickup truck.<\/p>\n

I get home. I text Tim that I am home safe and sound with his rig.\u00a0No reply from Tim. Very unusual.<\/em><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Then (me being a Go To Any Length person) I call Tim to say that I am home safe and sound with his truck. Tim does not answer his phone. Very unusual. I leave a voice mail message.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

So I call him right back a second time. Tim does not answer his phone. Very unusual. I leave another voice mail message.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

So I call him right back a third time. Tim does not answer his phone. Very unusual. I leave still another voice mail message.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

A few minutes pass. Our Car Dealer calls me. “Cap you can come and pick up your Suburban, it’s ready.”<\/p>\n

I call Tim FROM HIS TRUCK<\/em><\/span> and tell him that Patti and I are going to pick up our Suburban and we will be at his home around 4pm. Tim does not answer his phone. But his car radio plays a tune. I turn off the radio.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

So I call Tim from the Car Dealers and tell him we have our Suburban and will be at his home in fifteen minutes. Tim does not answer his phone. But his car radio plays a tune. I turn off the radio.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

We get to Tim’s home. We park his like new, 18 year old 2006 Ford Super Duty pickup truck in his drive. I call and I leave a message that his truck is in HIS driveway, and his keys are under the driver’s side floor mat. Tim does not answer his phone.\u00a0<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

I get into our Suburban with Patti who has been Part and Parcel of this story. We drive home.<\/p>\n

We get home to our apartment.<\/p>\n

Tim finally<\/span><\/em><\/span> calls me on my Smart Cell Phone!\u00a0<\/p>\n

“Tim did you see your truck sitting out front in your driveway?” .. “Did you find your keys under the driver’s floor mat?”<\/p>\n

TIM’S SENIOR MOMENT..<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

“Yes Cap. When I was showing you how to adjust the front seat I<\/em> <\/span>set my Cell Phone down and forgot it. So my phone was in the truck all this time!”<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

CAP’S SENIOR MOMENT..<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

That sound of<\/em> Tim’s car radio playing a tune was Tim’s Cell phone ringing on the floor of his truck. Tim had been furiously calling me from his land line in his home.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Tim said “Cap why didn’t you knock on our front door?” THAT never occurred to me Tim.<\/p>\n

Now I have Tim’s wife’s Smart Phone Number.<\/p>\n

– – – – – – – –<\/span><\/p>\n

One Last Time.<\/p>\n

Thank You So Very Much Tim For Loaning Me Your Truck.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

One Dinga-Ling to Another Dinga-Ling!<\/p>\n
