Both Kit and Kathleen actually looked it over and both left outstanding and interesting comments.

Kit shared about her pet rat Harvey.. “I grew up with the greatest little rat, Harvey!”

Kathleen shared at length in a long comment about her rat experiences in College.. “My heart wouldn’t allow me to do that to the poor innocent creatures, especially after they had charmed me in the mazes.”

It.. Shows.. Ta.. Go. Ya..

What do we know about what any of you like? Cap and Patti..

SURPRISE NATIONAL TODAY HOLIDAY..

OK today we will try another, call it, “interesting” NATIONAL TODAY Holiday..

Will anyone “jump on it” like Kit and Kathleen did above with RATs?

How is this??

INTERNATIONAL FIREWALK DAY ..

The practice of walking on fire has existed for several thousand years. People did it for initiation into secret societies or adulthood, to promote healing through faith rituals, and to show devotion to their religions.

Firewalking was first mentioned in 1200 B.C. in writings during the Iron Age in India.

What are the risks of the firewalk? Participants risk burning their feet if they run across the coals or stand in one spot for too long.

Was this news to YOU our readers?

""

International Firewalk Day takes place on the first Saturday of April every year and this year, it falls on April 5.

People all throughout the world take part in activities known as “Firewalks,” which, to put it simply, involve ambling barefoot over a bed of hot stones or embers. This ritual is frequently performed as a rite of passage, as a test of a person’s courage and mental fortitude, or in religious contexts, as a proof of one’s faith. Social theorists have argued that the popularity of intense collective events such as firewalking continues to grow because they foster socialization. The social cohesion and team building they bring about make them a favorite worldwide. Whatever the reasons for engaging in firewalking, it’s clear that this discipline has captured people’s emotions and imaginations and is here to stay.

“Have At It” Sports Fans.. There is a lot more about Firewalking in the below link.

And, by the way, Patti attended a weekend retreat once led by Tony Robbins where there was firewalking one of the nights. It was optional. She chose NOT to participate!

DEEP DISH PIZZA..

Found in APR 5.. NATIONAL TODAY ..

""

Oh, pizza. Is there a single food more universally beloved that is also so incredibly divisive?

The most contentious of these divisions comes between New Yorkers and their New York-style slices and Chicagoans and their deep dish pies.

Deep dish pizza was invented in the Windy City of Chicago in 1943 by Ike Sewell, founder of Uno’s Pizzeria. It became so popular that it spun into a huge national chain and inspired dozens upon dozens of other deep dish pizzerias in major cities across the world. So tuck a napkin into your collar, grab a fork and knife (you’ll need them), and celebrate National Deep Dish Pizza Day with us this April 5!

""

""

Why Oh Why Did I Pick DEEP DISH PIZZA as a Holiday?

Patti and I, in early May of 2023, had had only one Deep Dish Pizza in our combined lives! We decided to indulge!

Between the two of us we could not eat it all and had to take our uneaten pizza pieces to Michael 86403 who gobbled them up!

""

I guess we wanted to let you all know that not everyone cares for these Pizzas.

End of story about Deep Dish Pizzas and Cap and Patti

And it IS a NATIONAL TODAY Holiday..
