The Summer of 2025 has ended.<\/p>\n

Much like\u00a0Memorial Day, which marks the\u00a0traditional beginning of summer, Labor Day generally signifies that the season has ended<\/em> <\/span>\u2014 even though the calendar says otherwise.<\/p>\n

Where Oh Where Did It Go?<\/p>\n

On September 5, 1882, Labor Day first honored workers in New York City. In 1884 the observance later moved to the first Monday in September. However, the observance wasn’t officially recognized by any government entity until 1885.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In 1894, Congress declared the day to be a national observance.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

What! Ginger Cat Appreciation Day?<\/p>\n

Yes because, for nineteen (19) years Patti had a Ginger Cat named Puff!<\/p>\n

That’s Why!<\/p>\n

It sure smells like catnip in here as we come together to celebrate Ginger Cat Appreciation Day on September 1. Founded by American software developer Chris Roy, this fun holiday honors the gingers of the feline world. Super clingy, often misunderstood, and always ready to take a petting, these orange fur balls are super celebrities of the cats. The day also calls for establishing a connection with the stray animals, Patti’s cat Puff was a stray cat.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

AMERCAN CHESS DAY..<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Once upon a time, a very long time ago, I played quite a bit of Chess.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

My Mother taught me to play Chess when I was five (5) years old. Patti’s Dad taught her the game at about the same age.\u00a0<\/p>\n

When Patti’s Dad taught her, he told her he was not going to “let her win” but that he would show her what she could have done differently to lead to a win. The first time she actually won a game, fair and square, he erupted with enthusiasm shouting, “You WIN. You ARE the WINNER!! And the games went on until Patti left for college!!<\/p>\n

Chess is not just your average board game. Chess is on a whole different level.<\/p>\n

A Venezuelan study found an increase in IQ scores of its participants after four months of learning and playing chess.<\/p>\n

Then one day, I was in my very early 20’s, Chess was suddenly no longer fun for me and I stopped playing Chess and have never played another game.<\/p>\n
