October the 14th is one of my “Very Special<\/em> Personal Days”.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

October 14th dates back to the very beginning of my conscious memories of my life.<\/p>\n

October the 14th was my Father’s Birthday.<\/p>\n

Happy Birthday Cake Dad. You left us back on August the 25th 1990.<\/p>\n

Several days ago (October 8th, 9th and 10th) we had three consecutive days of, let’s call them “serious topics”, concerning Dyslexia, Depression, Mental Health.<\/em><\/p>\n

By design, By plan, we deliberately made the next three days (October 11th, 12th and 13th) less serious and more fun.<\/p>\n

For a “First Time Ever” here on dotnet with regard to NATIONAL TODAY Holidays,\u00a0we are going to mix fun (Love and Being Bald) Part 1 \/ 2 with the NATIONAL TODAY Holiday Facing Fear Part 2 \/ 2.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

So if you don’t want to read about Facing Fear, just skip Part 2 \/ 2.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Here is the problem. I personally found the Facing Fear Holiday to be very interesting.<\/p>\n

National I Love You Day is celebrated on October 14 in the U.S.<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Convey your feelings to your parents, siblings, friends, or spouse. It can be through a poem, card, gift, simple text, or phone call.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Recently we have had several very similar Holidays. <\/em><\/p>\n

I really try to do these actions.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Yesterday I was at Costco. I had gotten my groceries and I was pushing my shopping cart toward the exit.<\/p>\n

To my right, I passed a somewhat “short, stocky, unattractive, grumpy, frumpy” looking lady I would guess was in her 50’s. She was standing still. She was NOT a “Happy Camper”.<\/p>\n

On the top of her shopping cart was a bag of Costco Croutons.<\/p>\n

I stopped and, pointing at her bag of identical Costco Croutons, I said to the lady. “I really love those croutons!”<\/p>\n

Then I reached into my shopping cart and I pulled out my own bag of the croutons and showed it to her.<\/p>\n

She just melted. A wide smile appeared that almost lit up the room she was so pleased!<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

To Feel Good? Do Good!<\/p>\n

Shaving heads and beards began a lot earlier than one might think. The early men from the Stone Age<\/em> <\/span>used sharpened clamshells and tweezers to shave or pluck out hair. In ancient Rome and Egypt, shaving heads was common amongst priests and also the common folk due to extremely hot climates. Egyptians are said to have developed shaving tools made of gold and copper.<\/p>\n

Be Bald and Be Free Day has encouraged a lot of men and women to shave their heads and be proud of their looks.<\/p>\n

Baldness is 80% hereditary.<\/p>\n

It was 1948.\u00a0 I was age 12 years. I was in the restroom of Oakridge Junior High School in Royal Oak, Michigan. I was standing in front of the mirror fussing and cussing trying to get my hair “to behave”. Suddenly I turned on my heels and went directly across the street to a barber shop and told the barber to “cut it all off”.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Then came the United States Marine Corps who said.. “Son! You already know how to wear your hair!”<\/p>\n

And that was basically that. Yes Oh Yes. I have, from time to time, let my hair grow out. I DO have a full head of hair if I choose to let it grow, but I rarely have let it grow!<\/p>\n
