To date, we have never shown a NATIONAL TODAY Holiday that does not feature the current day and date.<\/p>\n

On November the 10th we featured the United States Marine Corps birthday. On November the 10th we didn’t want to, in any way, detract from that holiday.<\/p>\n

But Area Code Day sure looked interesting to us so.. !<\/p>\n

We are setting a new president using a holiday from the past.<\/p>\n

Are we being Absurd?<\/p>\n

So be it!<\/p>\n

Area Code Day is celebrated on November 10.<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Our system of area codes is important as it helps people to connect telephonically with people living outside their states or cities easily and quickly.<\/p>\n

\u00a0Area codes were created by AT&T and The Bell\u00a0 System in 1940. Eighty five (85) years ago? This long ago? That surprised us.<\/p>\n

The Bell System stopped its service in 1982. The Bell Telephone Company closed its doors in 1983.<\/p>\n

In 1947, area codes helped to overcome the shortage of phone numbers in countries like the U.S. and Canada through the North American Numbering Plan (NANP).\u00a0<\/p>\n

The North American Numbering Plan (NANP) consisted of 25 different regions, including North America and the Caribbean.<\/p>\n

There are two kinds of area codes, local and toll-free. Those that are not toll-free, represent the geographic region to which a phone number belongs.<\/p>\n

The area codes for more populous states started and ended with a lower number.<\/p>\n

Last Tuesday, we had a real rainstorm.<\/p>\n

Notice the chair in the above and below photos.<\/p>\n

It’s difficult to see in the below photo, but the above chair had a sizeable “puddle” of water standing on it.<\/p>\n

I saw the storm coming. I photographed the rain. I knew our area was wet and drenched with water.<\/p>\n

Get it? Got it? Good!<\/p>\n

So what did I do on Tuesday evening?<\/p>\n

CAP’S SENIOR MOMENT!<\/em><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Tuesday evening (it was dark but our outdoor light was turned on) I sat down in the puddle in the above chair.<\/p>\n

My Sweatshirt, my trousers, my T-shirt and my Shorts were instantly “soaked”.<\/p>\n

I had to “strip completely”, hang up my clothes to dry, and get on all dry clothes.<\/p>\n

Dumb Huh!<\/p>\n

Senior Moment Huh!<\/p>\n
