Beginning with my Mother’s photography, my lifetime association with cameras began at a very early age. She took elementary school class photographs, developed the films and printed them in our kitchen!! She then gave finished class photographs to the class teachers.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

I first arrived in San Francisco in September of 1958, courtesy of The United States Marine Corps, as I passed under the Golden Gate Bridge en route out into the Pacific Ocean on my way to Hawaii. It was love at first sight. <\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

I returned in September of 1965, and San Francisco City proper, along with Pacifica and Daly City just South of San Francisco on the Pacific Ocean, were home to me for over 30 years. I was born and raised in Michigan. Yes I also lived in Hawaii 1958-59, briefly in Texas, then back to Michigan, Florida, Louisiana, Virginia, Arizona, Central California, New York, Indiana, Georgia and South Carolina. I also lived in West Germany for four years (1974 to 1978) and travelled internationally to India and China.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

But San Francisco was my more or less “permanent” residence beginning in 1965 for 32 years when I became a resident of Alaska.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Patti attended the University of California in Berkeley and her college roommate was born and raised in San Francisco.\u00a0 The roommate’s mother still lived there and Patti and her roommate spent a lot of time in San Francisco. Patti’s father also had a San Francisco connection, having sailed under the Golden Gate Bridge as a Merchant Marine, and vowing to return there one day to live.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n
