MAR 30, 22 .. THE DAY AFTER OUR DAY IN COURT ..

When I sit down to do a Post, quite often not even I know for sure where it will end up.

Because of how I am feeling today, tired and basically wiped out, I don’t feel like I have done anything today (which Patti will agree is 100% incorrect) this being the day after our day in court and the end of Black Beauty’s stolen truck drama. I just did a lot of reading about the phenomenon new mother’s may have to deal with known as the postpartum experience.

“What’s this Captain? Did you have a baby?”

No, but I relate to the sudden hormone crash (estrogen and progesterone) that the newborn birth mothers experience after this really special (having a baby) life event when all should be happiness and joy and being absolutely thrilled with their newborn.

Why don’t I feel the same? Our happy baby event was our coming to the end of our stolen truck drama.

But reading about the postpartum experience sure helped a lot! The advice: Talk about it to others; Share feeling;. Be quiet; Get rest.

“Get it?” .. “Nope.”

In our case, suddenly all of the unknowns, suddenly all of the stress that Patti and I have been dealing with since Black Beauty was stolen last December the 24th, instantly have 100% disappeared.

One of my greatest fears, during the three months following Black Beauty being stolen, was that the defendant (to quote Gullible) didn’t get off with a promise to be good !

Everyone reading along here can vouch for the simple legal fact that quite often the victims feel like they did not receive just treatment from the legal process. For instance, drunk drivers kill entire families and some get off with no meaningful punishment.

Patti and I are very satisfied with the sentencing. Thanks to Patti’s experience working in the legal field, she explained to me the ins and the outs of Plea Bargains. A Plea Bargain is designed to help both parties involved in a legal dispute. Each side gets something of importance to them. In this case, the Judge had some State of Arizona guidelines as to sentencing that ranged from 2 to 7 years of prison incarcertion for a defendant involved in a pair of Class 3 Felonies. We will never know but it sure looks like the defendant might have been told that, in return for a Plea Bargain Agreement, the defendant would NOT receive the maximum 7 years of incarcertion. Mohave County in turn perhaps received a financial and staffing benefit in that a full, possibly long and drawn out trial was avoided. Judge Camacho said several times (he seemed to stress this) that this was a non violent crime in that there was no physical harm done to anyone (no one was shot or beaten up etc). By freeing itself of this non violent crime case, Mohave County can focus its legal resources on more serious crimes involving violence.

And I hope I get a good nights sleep tonight.

Over And Out ..

Cap and Patti still pluggling along with me ..

Post Script : Let’s say God sent to me his Court Case Arbitrator.

His Arbitrator said to me : Captain let’s you and I make a deal.

I will see to it that you and Patti get your stolen truck back, in absolutely great shape, BUT missing about a thousand ($1,000) dollars worth of your former / never to be seen again items and you will NOT get so much as one penny (1¢) of their  value back.

Here’s the deal Captain : You sign on the line and that will happen.

“Deal or No Deal Captain?”

“Deal Oh Blessed Arbitrator!”

It’s over. Time to put it to rest as best you can. You might never get over the sense of violation, but you got your rig back in good condition—not wrecked or stripped or loaded with drug paraphernalia. You came out better than most! The loss of personal property is aggravating, but those things can be replaced. Hope you got a good night’s sleep.

Gullible ALL of your words are indeed very VERY true words. Gullible it IS over ! Gullible it IS time to put it to rest ! .. As best I can. Gullilble YES I came out far, FAR better than (perhaps) most. In my Post Script I all but said all of this. We got the truck back and I’ve decided to let go of all of the rest. I have a choice, move on or not. I slept very well last night BUT I seem to always sleep very well. And? Both of us deeply and sincerely thank you and so appreciate your interest in our ‘doings’. Thanks again.. Cap and Patti

Cap, on DAY 1 – I thought you would NEVER see the GMC again. Glad this guy will spend time in prison, who knows – maybe he’ll “get religion” in there.

Tom we never know do we? We two are relieved that he will be serving some time in prison. And? Sometimes miracles DO happen so who knows. Thanks Tom for taking the time to read this Post and make a comment. Cap
