MAY 3, 24 .. A DAY WE’VE ANTICIPATED FOR SEVERAL MONTHS.. NORTH TO ALASKA..

Friday, May the 3rd, 2024.

We are “up and out of here” leaving Laughlin, NV, in a few hours when Tom will drive us from Laughlin North to the Las Vegas International Airport.

We expect to arrive perhaps four hours before our flight so we will have ample time to just “chill out and relax” before our flight to Seattle.

In Seattle we will have a layover of about an hour then up, up, up and away, North to Alaska.

I may, and I may not be able to, add some updates to this Post as we await flights in Las Vegas and Seattle.

Captain? Who cares? .. Oh Hush Up!

Yesterday, Patti and Ginny spent several hours visiting here at the Edgewater Hotel out by the pool.

On May the 1st we posted the below photo that Ginny sent to us and explained that Ginny’s sister was out for a walk when, out of the blue, a butterfly landed on her hand. She continued to walk. The butterfly calmly remained on her sisters hand.

Well just “guess what” happened yesterday afternoon as Ginny and Patti were visiting.

From Patti:  As Ginny and I sat quietly visiting, this moth landed on my left arm sleeve.  It stayed for well over an hour.  We decided to move inside where it was cooler to continue our visit.  The moth moved with us and stayed for at least another half hour.  As Ginny and I were about to conclude our visit, the moth fluttered, circled my knee, and flew away in the corridor of the casino hotel.  Hope he enjoyed the visiting as much as Ginny and I did!!

We sure enjoy The Edgewater Casino Hotel here in Laughlin, Nevada.

I snapped the below photos as I was returning with a Tuna Footlong Subway Sandwich for our dinner last night.

Goodbye for now!

MAY 2, 24 .. PAY IT FORWARD..

Last Tuesday .. We posted the below April 28th National Today.

And we wrote..

In life, for many reasons, you simply can not pay back a good deed or favor done to us.

This is true especially when absolute total strangers help us out.

Meet Lisa !!

I went to our local Lake Havasu City Laundromat last week with a gigantic load of laundry (King Size Bedding and more) in five of the maximum size yard waste black plastic bags.

I hadn’t been to this particular Laundromat for at least a year, maybe more.

I must have “looked bewildered” (which I WAS) because Lisa, who was there with her REALLY great husband, jumped up, came over to me, and said..

“Can I help you?”

Lisa showed me the best (front load) washers in the laundromat to use. She coached me on how much laundry to put into them (far more than I would have put in), how to load the laundry detergent, how to select the proper cycle (heavy duty) and temperature (hot) etc et all.

When the washing cycle was finished, Lisa showed me the best dryers (there were four different sizes) to use.

Patti was at the library as I was doing the above. I called Patti and put Lisa on the phone telling Patti how much help Lisa was giving me.

When Patti was finished at the Library I went and picked her up (Lisa and her husband watched our in process laundry) and Patti was able to meet Lisa and see her husband.

How do I? How Could I? Possible repay Lisa for her assistance?

I will try to Pay Her Kindness Forward.

Yesterday, here at our Edgewater Hotel, I was walking slowly and was maybe 50 feet up a long corridor from the elevators. When I arrived into the elevator lobby, an elderly woman was waiting for me, patiently holding the elevator door open for me.

How do I “repay” that?

This afternoon as I entered an elevator, I noticed that back up that long corridor an elderly man and woman were slowly coming towards the elevator lobby. So I stood, held the door open for them.

They said, “Sir. You are a very nice man!”

TO FEEL GOOD! DO GOOD!

Tomorrow, Patti and I are flying North to Alaska. Does The Shadow Know IF we will actually make it up to Las Vegas, board a flight,  fly to Seattle, wait for our next flight, then fly North to Anchorage?

Thanks so very much for all of your support.
