APR 16, 19 .. SIX FULL MONTHS ON-THE-ROAD .. KOREA / MONGOLIA / RUSSIAN SIBERIA

October 16, 2018 to April 16, 2019 .. Looks like six months to me.

Whew!

Can anyone believe this? I’m having trouble believing it and I’m the one living this current adventure.

Back on Saturday, March 24, 2018, about 2pm in the early afternoon (I shall not soon forget the day/date/time) when I got so suddenly ill in Phoenix, Arizona, a ’bout ‘ of malaise (a general feeling of discomfort, illness, or unease whose exact cause is difficult to identify) that took me all the way into August 2018 before I finally felt ‘myself ‘ again, there was a constant ‘nagging’ in my head that :

‘My days of serious international travel could well be history.’

Then my health began to swing upward, and by late September, I felt that I could indeed make another major international trip.

HERE WE GO LOOP DE LOOP ..

HERE WE GO LOOP DE LI ..

October 16, 2018 .. I departed from Anchorage, Alaska, for an overnight stay in Seattle, Washington, with Greg and Tsering.

October 17, 2018 .. On to Seoul, South Korea to enjoy a 6-day visit with Terry and Kathy.

October 23, 2018 .. On to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, to enjoy a 6-day visit with my friend Khoso and with my friend Deegi.

October 29, 2018 .. On to Irkutsk, Russian Siberia to finally meet Sergey.

Here’s my math :

Forget the month of February and its 28-days.

Add up the days in the other 11 months and you get a total of 337 days. Divide 337 days by 11 months and you get 30.64 days per month. Now count the days that I have actually been here in Russia beginning with October the 29th, 2018, keeping in mind I was in Seoul, South Korea, from February 8 – 22, 2019, to meet Patti, and I get a total of 153 days spent in Russia.

153 days in Russia divided by 30.64 days per month and you get 4.99 months in Russia.

I’ll call it 5 Months in Russia.

Back during that challenging period from March 24, 2018 until (sometime in ) August 2018 when I truly came to the reality that I was again feeling pretty good for age 82-years, I never imagined that I would finally be spending five months here in Russia, my goal since back in Spring of 2016 when I was invited to visit Russia.

True!

From Wednesday, August 2, 2017, when I entered Russia from Sukhbaatar, Mongolia, to visit Ulan-Ude, Russia, until Thursday August 4, 2017, when I returned to Mongolia, I most certainly was in Russia.

But five months really ‘counts ‘ as opposed to three days.
