FEB 8, 21 .. NOW WE WAIT ANOTHER FULL YEAR FOR SUPER BOWL 2022
Well .. (long pause and a sigh) .. the National Football League (NFL) season is over. The 2021 Super Bowl has now been played and will slowly fade into the pages of sports history to join the previous fifty four (54) Super Bowl games that date back to January 15, 1967.
It is seldom that I ‘chart’a sporting event. When I say I ‘chart’ a sporting event it means that I keep a runnng log of the plays (in the case of a basketball game, I keep a running log of the scores) and when I do this (‘chart’ a game) it really keeps me focused and ‘into-the’game’. However, because of our intense interest in this Super Bowl game, I decided to ‘chart’ it. We have been following and rooting-for the Tampa Bay Bucanners and Tom Brady from day 1 of this NFL season.
I know, it’s almost impossible to see the details of the game in the below chart but you get-the-idea.
Below is a closeup of the top of the above chart.
Not every single football ‘expert’ picked The Kansas City Chiefs to win but at least 95% of the experts said, in their collective opinions, that Kansas City would win. However, all of the ‘experts’ who picked Kansas City agreed that the game would be very close and would probably be decided by just a few points. The Las Vegas odds favored Kansas City by 3-1/2 points. But one ‘expert’ (Michael Irvin on the NFL Television Channel) said emphatically, with absolutely no hesitation : Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers WILL WIN the game.
So we tuned into the game on our television set at around 11am yesterday morning and stayed tuned-in until after 8 pm just enjoying all of the pre-game hype, the game itself, and we especially enjoyed all of the post-game reviews by the ‘experts’.
Sports fans know several truths : ‘Your team’ is not going to win all of their games. You hold onto those special games that are particularly important to you and when ‘your team’ wins you hold the memory for the times ‘your team’ loses.
No! I’m not going to give you a play-by-play accounting of the game.
But ‘our’ Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Tom Brady won 31 – 9 ! We were thrilled!
We will hold happy and joyous memories of the 2021 NFL Super Bowl game.

The old dog taught the young dog some tricks. I was torn about who to root for. One part of me wanted Brady to show the Patriots that he was still a great player. The other part enjoys the antics Mahommes uses on the field.
We two were (only) somewhat torn about the game. When I qualify it as somewhat-torn, I mean simply that no matter who won, Tampa Bay or Kansas City, we were OK with it PROVIDED they deserved to win. That being said, we REALLY WANTED Tampa Bay and Tom Brady to win (again) IF they so deserved. Well we were thrilled that Tampa Bay and Tom Brady RICHLY DESERVED to win which they did (win !).
