MAY 11, 15 .. MACAU ..

MACAU lies to the West of Hong Kong. I am not able to post a map over at my blogspot website .. bobba caps doxology .. So I have posted several maps further below here in case you want to see where Macau and Hong Kong are in relation to one another.

“This ‘work around’ of yours ‘Takes The Cake’ Captain!”  /s/ Andrej Your Dot Net Web Master.  “Joining your two web sites together because you can not do what you need to do over at blogspot.”

Sophisticated Computer Web Masters like Andrej call this a ‘work around’.  I wish Andrej would go over to blogspot and fix me up a map system there! Google Maps on a Google Blogspot Website .. Why not?

“What’s that Andrej?” .. “Why don’t I just put the Macau Post here on dot net?” .. “Good question!” .. “I don’t want to lose blogspot as an active site Andrej.”

“What Captain would you possibly do with yourself IF you were not spending hours upon hours fussing with your three web sites?

OH YES! .. Tomorrow .. Tuesday the 12th of May .. I am flying to New Delhi India. Better that I be doing this today no?

Below is a map showing you both Macau and Hong Kong as they relate to one another.

Macau is a somewhat complicated region. Macau is a Special Administrative Region (SAR) of The People’s Republic of China just like Hong Kong is a Chinese SAR. Macau City proper lies on a small peninsula located on the mainland China land mass. Do you all see the jagged black line just above the name Macau?  This delineates the Macau SAR from mainland China. Below the city proper is an island that is also part of the Macau Metro Area.

The upper balloon below points to what I am calling Macau City proper.  The lower balloon points to the island below Macau City proper that is part of the greater Macau Metro Area.

Below is the island.

Macau Island is like the ‘tail-wagging-the-horse’. It is larger than its sister above it Macau City! And equally rich in history.

To get to Macau we  took one of the many  MACAU FERRIES ..

The Macau ferries are fast and clean and efficient. The ride from Hong Kong west to Macau is about one full hour. We paid about $75 ( $77.42 ) for the two of us for the round trips over and back. The fare going differed from the fare returning because Macau has its own monetary system that is a tad less than Hong Kong’s.
