Here in the United States of America .. we have just celebrated one of our MAJOR HOLIDAYS .. ‘MEMORIAL DAY’ ..
During this weekend we honor those who have served and died while in the military service here in the United States ..
BY FAR THE GREATEST .. AND BY FAR THE MOST IMPORTANT SINGLE DECISION THAT I HAVE MADE IN MY ENTIRE LIFETIME .. at least up to this point at age 75 years and counting ..
WAS MY DECISION .. ON JANUARY THE 30th of 1958 .. to enlist in the United States MARINE CORPS ..
My father was in the United States Coast Guard .. My Son Robb served in the United States Army .. and my son David served in the United States Air Force ..
After I was dis-charged from the United States Marine Corps in July of 1964 .. I received a commission in the United States Navy .. Civil Engineer Corps .. fondly called the Sea Bees ..
So I join all who have served in saluting those who lay down their lives in Service to Our Country.
