AUG 21, 17 .. OUT AND ABOUT ULAANBAATAR, MONGOLIA
My time sure is getting short here in Ulaanbaatar and in Mongolia. In three days, Thursday the 24th, I will fly South to Hong Kong.
Today, I had one very nice lunch.
Check it out.
THE VERANDA.
The Veranda is located right beside the Choijin Lama Museum. I saw the below view from my table.
Nice day. I sat outside on the veranda.
Mediterranean Chicken Salad.
Notice in the above photo the small bowl in the upper left by the bread. It was minced black olives in garlic and olive oil. Oh my was it great on the bread.
Interior seating should one so desire. This is a Top Five Restaurant in Ulaanbaatar.
A museum I stopped by to check out.
MEMORIAL MUSEUM OF VICTIMS OF POLITICAL PERSECUTIONS
It was closed. Shut down.
SONGDO HOSPITAL.
In the distance below is my hospital where I had my CT Scan for my kidney issue.
I wanted to return to just check it out.
Tenth anniversary. It is a relatively new hospital.
The Songdo Hospital is practically in-the-shadow of The Blue Sky Hotel and Tower.
Onward! Immediately up the street from The Songdo Hospital walking toward The Blue Sky, is another museum I wanted to check out.
MONGOL COSTUMES MUSEUM
The small museum was up the stairs on the 2nd floor.
THE MAN .. CHINGGIS KHAAN.
I especially enjoyed this display showing Chinggis Khaan.
Assorted traditional Mongolian attire.
A Mongolian Ger.
Oh yes. I did some other things as well. Visited the Post Office. I absolutely could NOT find several other venues that I was looking for. Maybe tomorrow I will find them.
Nice day. Very nice day. Very VERY nice day.

THE REST OF THE STORY
VITAMIN ‘D’
Today’s Rhetorical Question : Do all of you know what Vitamin ‘D’ capsules look like?
They are small. They are round. When you drop one, it will roll away into a most impossible place for you to find it.
To begin my day, I dropped an open bottle (Yes the bottle in the photo above) of them onto the floor!
Oh Sigh. What a job to find all that I think I have found.
Still Smiling.

Today’s Rhetorical Statement :
Even the Mongolians, with century upon century of experience, are not able to make an umbrella that has any ‘staying power’ whatsoever.
“Cap?” .. “Yes Gullible?” .. “Get a life. Even the Mongolians buy everything from China!”
Rain or shine.. Good times.. Not such good times.. Keep Smiling.
- AUG 20, 17 .. THE SMALLEST VOICE SAID .. OH-H-H DAD!
- AUG 22, 17 .. THE SAND IN THE HOUR GLASS IS RUNNING OUT
Nice that you treated yourself to and enjoyed a lunch at the Veranda … the salad looked good, but small … however, I know, give you chopped black olives in olive oil to put on bread and you are in ecstasy! The Memorial Museum for Victims of Political Persecution is sobering … small, start, huge message. Nice to see the modern, fairly new hospital. The costumes museum looked fun. And, those skittering Vitamin D’s … they really do dash about! Smiles, Love. Patti
YES oh yes, the salad was indeed on the small side. But still phenomenal. The minced black olives / garlic olive oil carried the day. Yes the Memorial Museum was grim as was the history it told. I did a Wikipedia check on it. Great Songdo Hospital. Cute museum huh. Vitamin ‘D’ pills are a hoot. Much Love .. Cap
