MAR 25, 13 (2/3) .. HOT ! OH MY ! AND I DON’T MEAN THE WEATHER

I have to admit .. to some small degree .. I have been ‘holding-out-on-you’ about my overall eating.

This is to say .. YES OH YES! .. I am eating a salad each and every day 95% of the time at noon-time.  And ‘often’ .. I will add a toasted vegetable sandwich with sliced bread or on a baguette.  And you have seen photos of the salads and of the sandwiches.

At dinner I have taken-a-fancy to an entree at Hot Breads called .. ‘Chili Chicken’.

Were I to photograph it .. (And I did and I inserted the photo below and it did photograph nicely!) .. you would see nothing except a bowl full of thick brown gravy.  Beside the bowl will be three (3) pieces of plain white sliced bread with my chop sticks.  There will also be a big bowl of yogurt .. say 16 ounces.

DINNER 001

IN the gravy .. finely minced and diced and chopped up .. are garlic and onions and hot chili peppers and maybe ginger. In addition will be large pieces of green peppers and onions.  And finally .. about eight fairly large pieces of chicken breast chunks.

I cut or tear the bread into squares and with my chop sticks .. I sop-up-the-gravy with the bread pieces.  As I am doing this sopping-up-the-gravy .. I eat the green pepper and onion pieces.

When the gravy and green peppers and onions are all gone .. then I eat the chicken chunks.

Chili Chicken.

Last night I REALLY GOT SLAMMED BY A HOT PEPPER!

In the above brown sauce / gravy .. the hot peppers are cut into thin little slices about 1/8-inch thick.  Eaten in these thin slices all-is-well!

Last night I was NOT thinking! .. Last night I was NOT looking ..

Last night I saw what I ‘took-to-be’ a green bean (NEVER EVER has there been a green bean in this entree!) in the brown sauce and without thinking .. without further investigation .. CHOMP I ate the green bean!

It took a few nano-seconds for me to realize that an entire-full-sized hot pepper had slipped into my brown sauce / gravy!

HOT I MEAN TO TELL YOU HOT!

It was so hot that I could not eat the thinly sliced pepper pieces that remained in the gravy!  No!  I had to pick them out of the brown sauce / gravy with my chop sticks as I worked my way through the remainder of my entree.

I immediately asked my waiter for a large 16-oz bowl of ‘curd’ (yogurt) to begin to put-out-the-fire in my mouth.

I have to laugh!  Man alive THAT PEPPER SURE GOT ME!

OK lets close with a ‘cooling photo’ of the Bay of Bengal.
