AUG 23, 19 .. VLADIVOSTOK ..

No! I have not disappeared on you.

Here’s an update:

TUESDAY, AUGUST 20th. 

When I arose last Tuesday morning,  I felt so bad I really thought to myself, “Am I going to be able to get onto an airplane and fly all night to Vladivostok?”

In my mind, the trip was hanging by the slenderest of threads.

Well, for any of you who check the TRAVEL BUTTON up at the very top of these Posts, you know that I did indeed get to Vladivostok.

I lay and slept on and off most of the day Tuesday and continued my recuperation from the three day Convention in Baykalsk. By late afternoon I felt well enough to pack up my things and publish a Post on Blogspot (see the link below):

Friends took me to the airport, parked their auto, and came in with me. Without their assistance, I don’t know how I would have gotten through the process as swiftly and as cleanly as I did.

WEDNESDAY AUGUST 21st. 

My flight lifted-off just past midnight. The flight was difficult. I could not get comfortable and I had everything in my bag-of-tricks to assure a good flight. For the first time ever, I slept through an airline meal and when I awoke, and the cabin crew offered to bring me dinner, I politely declined.

In Vladivostok, my bag was number five off the aircraft and onto the baggage carousel. As I walked into the arrival hall, my hosts were front and center and immediately greeted me. The airport is a long way out from the city, so we had about a 30-minute drive into town. We stopped and got me a 5-litre jug of water and came to my home-away-from-home here in Vladivostok, Russian Siberia.

I slept basically all day Wednesday. Then I slept all night.

THURSDAY AUGUST 22nd.

My hosts got me registered with the Russian Immigration Office here. A great relief off my mind. I came home and slept some more then attended a meeting from 7pm to 8:30pm. After the meeting we did some Vladivostok sight seeing.

And here we are.

FRIDAY AUGUST 23rd.

I slept all night and I then slept-in this morning. Then published a Post on blogspot:

This Friday evening I’ll be going to a meeting.

We shall see what we shall see. Will I still be standing?

Press Publish. Await Patti’s proof reading. And then lay back down.

It is difficult for me to grasp this : I am now well into my eleventh (11th) month on-the-road on the other side of Planet Earth from most of you.

When I shoved-off last October the 16th, 2018, I did not have a clear idea of what was in store for me. Nor did I have a clear idea of how I would hold-up. What a ride and we are still up in the saddle getting-on-with-the-getting-on.
