What to say now three full years later?

On November 25th 2016, I was in the Dubai, United Arab Emirates, International Airport. I’d checked in, I had my boarding pass and I was ready-to-fly to Hong Kong. And then I fell. And then, with a broken hip I wrote the above post.

Odd. On this date in 2017 and in 2018 no memory of this Anniversary came to mind.

So Captain .. “What’s the point here?”

Simple .. This isn’t for YOU it’s for me.

THE POINT IS : “I can’t for one minute let this experience get-too-far-away from my memory because each and every minute of my waking day, like 100% of all Senior Citizens, I risk falling.”

Three people I knew fell in their own homes. All three died on-the-spot. Each and every single Senior Citizen can recount their own stories of their own falls or the falls of others.

So there you have it.

Time she flies. Today marks the second full month anniversary of my having, and living with, my Samsung A10 Smart Phone. Two months! THAT is amazing. And ladies and gentlemen, sports fans everywhere, I feel that I am a long way from even coming close to knowing 50% of what there is to know about a smart phone. What a learning curve a smart phone has for a new comer to their Information Technology world.

It still amazes me that you were able to do that post as you sat there in the business lounge with a fractured hip. At that early stage, your body was likely in some form of shock. That WAS a VERY memorable day three years ago .. FOR SURE! And then .. the days that followed .. getting to the YMCA Hotel, seeing the doctor at the Hong Kong hospital, getting on a flight a couple of days later from Hong Kong to Phoenix where I met you at the airport. You were the talk of Mayo Clinic for the next several days!! The doctors (and everyone else on the staff) there were truly amazed at what you had been able to do with your hip fractured. And, alas, it did NOT end your travels!!! Today we can still smile .. love, Patti

Had I myself not lived the experience, it would AMAZE me also what I did after the fall. Think of it this way : By getting involved in a post, snapping photos of my surroundings, writing / composing the post, all of these actions took my mind away from what was happening left-hip-wise. I just changed my focus away from my left hip and turned in onto writing this post. Quite a feat huh? And of course there was much, MUCH more to come in the ensuing days. THANK YOU for jumping to the front with me and arranging all you arranged from my trip from Hong Kong to Seattle and Phoenix. Our room accommodations at the Sleep Inn and so many MANY more details you took care of. The taxi ride from the airport to the Sleep Inn was an experience. You could tell that I was just a tad uncomfortable without a post to be writing. Again thanks for all you did on the-front-lines of this. Much Love .. Cap
