Our visit to Phoenix is complete. Patti had her procedure to treat her Barrett’s Esophagus Syndrome yesterday, Friday May 1st. The time has come to head North ‘back-home’ to Kingman, Arizona.

After arising at 6a, we left Phoenix at 7:25a, and headed North out of Phoenix on Interstate 17 to its intersection with Arizona Hwy 74 which we took West to Wickenberg where we picked up Arizona Hwy 93 North to its intersection with Interstate 40 and West into Kingman.

The temperature was just perfect. A (cool to us after 107F day before yesterday) pleasant 80F with the sun at our back. Door to door we drove 179 miles in 2 hours and 50 minutes non-stop. During our trip Patti began to feel a headache ‘coming on’.

When we checked into our room in Kingman, Patti’s headache was fully developed. I immediately went to our local Walmart to get some extra strength (500mg) Tylenol (the specified headache medicine after her procedure yesterday). She took two tablets and settled down to sleep for much of the rest of the morning and afternoon. At 6p the headache was better but not completely gone. She took two more Tylenol tablets and ‘washed them down’ with a large Frosty (NOT on her post procedure diet) from our local Wendy’s here in Kingman. Back to bed the two of us went. Along with Patti, I was exhausted after the events of the past week (and months for that matter) so we slept until after 9p when Patti awoke headache-free.

Patti is on a basic clear-liquids-only diet. I ate a light dinner and I read a few stores to Patti out of our recent Grapevine Magazine.

Now it is 12 o’clock midnight and it’s ..

Time for Bed.
