AUG 29, 21 .. PATTI’S BIRTHDAY YESTERDAY WAS VERY HAPPY
First up was the weather. Most of the week we have had dark overcast skies and rain. Today was a brilliant, sunny, clear day. A real-feel-good day. See for yourselves as we look out on the green strip behind our condo.
We two got up in time (this is no small feat for us anymore) to attend a very satisfying 12 noon meeting. Then we came home and Patti enjoyed carefully and lovingly opening and reading her Birthday Cards. As Patti read her cards, we shared memories of the senders. Patti also received some email Birthday Greetings as well as some phone calls and also text messages as well celebrating her Birthday.
At 4pm Patti’s nieces, brothers and their family members put together a zoom birthday meeting that was very pleasant. It lasted over an hour and was really special.
Then Patti made some phone calls and sent some text messages and emails to those who had been a part of her day today.
We finished the day by driving to Eagle River (about a 15 minute drive North of Anchorage) and enjoyed a dinner of Singapore Rice Noodles at a favorite restaurant of ours. It was (I think) our first time sitting in a restaurant enjoying a meal since Covid-19 erupted in March 2020. We sat immediately inside of the entry door and felt our social distancing was comfortable. All of the restaurant staff wore masks.
All in all, it could not have been a better day.
