DEC 8, 21 .. EDGEWATER HOTEL CASINO.. SHAMROCK.. OUR FAVORITE SLOT MACHINE

Last Monday, the day before yesterday, I began our Post stating that our time here in Laughlin, Nevada, is coming to a close and that tomorrow (Tuesday the 7th of December) we were heading to Lake Havasu City, Arizona.

We have changed the above plan. We remain in Laughlin, Nevada. The two of us needed a few more days to settle and rest up following our trip down here one week ago.

Friday the 10th of December 2021 we now plan to drive South to Lake Havasu City and we (currently) plan to stay a week visiting our good friend Michael who lived in Alaska for a good number of years.

What is a slot machine? Sorry to say but Wikipedia did not have a really clear article as to answering this question. However IF you want to read it you can click onto the link below..

However I can, and I now will, show you three photographs of our own, personal to us (we have been playing it for several years now) slot machine here at the Edgewater Hotel and Casino. He has a name : Shamrock

Now here is how I currently play a slot machine.

First, I only play a one ($1) dollar machine. That is, each time I activate a slot machine, it costs me one ($1) dollar. Why a dollar slot? Play for peanuts and you only win peanuts.

Second, when I sit down at Shamrock I decide how much I will play in any given session. Currently that amount is ten ($10) dollars.

Third, I play only this pre-established (by me) number of dollars.

Results so far this visit.

Bet         Amount Won

$10         $2

$10          $6

$10           $25

$10            $6

___           ____

$40            $39

So far so good. With my $40 played, I have had a chance to win a much larger sum of money but I am basically even and..

It is fun to enjoy the ambiance of the Casino slot machine area as you play.

The problem some people have is that they can’t, they are unable, to set up a regimen (bet $10 period and stop) and follow it and they then end up losing all the money they gamble.

Now the above statement isn’t all bad IF you can well afford to lose what you set out to play. On our last visit, I played one hundred ($100) dollars until I lost all of it. Stupid. No not really. You see you continuously keep winning small amounts of money as you play. In the time it took for me to lose the $100 dollars, I had five hundred and fifty ‘plays’. So I had 550 chances to hit a big payoff.

The slot machines no longer have a lever (the arm) you pull, just a button you push. Patti got me involved in Survivor back in 2004. Smiles Gullible .. Cap
