FEB 10, 22 .. FOR WHAT IT’S WORTH

Wednesday, February 9th.

Why do I keep showing the daily credentials? Because (from the 15 to 35 minute drive to the clinic, finding a place and parking our truck, and getting to our appointment area) it is a real process to get entry credentials.

Up at 7 a.m. and out for another day of appointments at the Mayo Clinic. Today both appointments were for me. Patti was present with me and that is always a great help.

A photo of the waiting area for today’s visit. After five years of visiting the Mayo Clinic here in Phoenix, Arizona, Patti and I are very familiar and very comfortable with all of the waiting areas.

After my two appointments, Patti and I went to the cafeteria and had a light breakfast. As Patti was selecting her breakfast (scrambled eggs with hash brown potatoes) I decided to get a snack to join Patti. So I selected ONE piece of bacon, ONE sausage, and ONE biscuit. Below is a photo of our bill.

Notice the ONE piece of bacon cost $0.99. The ONE sausage link cost $0.95. The ONE biscuit cost $1.35. After we ate I went back to the cashier and asked her about the pricing.

I asked the cashier, “Did I make a mistake in selecting ONE piece of bacon. Was I entitled to several pieces?”

“No. Each piece of bacon costs $0.99!”

The same for sausage links and biscuits.

Sigh. I was very happy that I did not go all out and get a rasher of bacon and several sausage links.

Off we went to a 12 noon meeting, and back to our motel room after the meeting. Patti was sitting in her bed reading and fell asleep (her head plopped down onto her chest) and I said let’s close the drapes and sleep.  7 a.m. is a pretty early start in the day for Patti . . she will agree!!

We both snuggled down and closed our eyes and we both just crashed.

Thursday, February 10th.

For the first time since we have been down here in Phoenix we have absolutely nothing on our schedule.

That feels very VERY good.

Still Standing .. Cap and Patti
