APR 7, 22 .. HELLO .. I AM STILL WAITING FOR IT TO GET EASY !!

So far, so good. Unlike the past two days up in Flagstaff, Arizona, here in Phoenix I seem to have both good WiFi and a fully functioning website.

Patti and I got up this morning in Flagstaff, Arizona. It was 36°F.

Got it all of you? It was four degrees above freezing.

Onto Interstate 17 and down to Phoenix, Arizona, where it was 98°F this afternoon.

Got it all of you? It was two degrees from 100°F.

This 64 degree change in temperature is a shock-to-one’s-system!!

We got to the Mayo Clinic and completed Patti’s required covid test for her procedure Friday. So far, So good (except for the heat).

Two photos (Patti suggested I snap them) showing the beauty of the Mayo Clinic Campus as you exit the covid testing area. These are Palo Verde Trees and they are very common here and in the Southwest in general.

HELLO .. I AM STILL WAITING FOR IT TO GET EASY !!

We drove from the Mayo Clinic to our Motel in Glendale (a 40 minute drive across Phoenix in the heat) and they had no exterior rooms (where you can park your car immediately outside of your room). No we would have had to park our truck. Then take our belongings into the building, get to our room, a hassle.

So? On the spot (after discussing our needs with the motel management) I cancelled our reservation. They were very nice and allowed me to use their internet to book another motel (our old favorite Motel 6 on West Bell Road). Off to Motel 6 West Bell Road in the heat. Oh By The Way, have I mentioned that our truck does NOT have air conditioning?

HELLO .. I AM STILL WAITING FOR IT TO GET EASY !!

We checked in and the room we were assigned was not what I had signed up for (two beds NOT one bed). After some discussion we were given the room we had reserved. After getting settled (it takes us a good 45 minutes to an hour), after watching Survivor, after watching Jeopardy, after eating our dinner in our room, I went to the restroom.

HELLO .. I AM STILL WAITING FOR IT TO GET EASY !!

Patti please come in here to the bathroom. “Do you hear anything?” .. “Yes, the noise is from water that is coming through the ceiling and splashing into our bath room tub and floor?

Management came. “You will have to move rooms.”

I said, “I am sorry but we are simply NOT able to and we are NOT going to move rooms tonight.” They agreed and then went upstairs and told the people to turn off their shower that was overflowing.

Our ‘digs’ here on West Bell Road in Phoenix, Arizona.

Two (NOT one) beds.

Oh Hi Kelly! What a blast you are having skydiving over in Hawaii!

“Kelly Oh Kelly! This IS crazy and fun!”

Back to Motel 6 on West Bell Road here in Phoenix.

Our bathroom.

The hole in the bathroom ceiling from whence a mini rainstorm evolved.

The only way-to-go. Having your vehicle parked immediately outside of your room.

Smiling .. Cap and Patti

As the world turns for you in motel land. Seems to be a frequently occurring problem for you. I suggest you look over your shoulder to see if you can catch sight of Murphy. I haven’t seen him in a while.

And why does your Suburban NOT have air conditioning?

No question about it being old damage. This is an elderly motel property and it looks like it had been previously (poorly?) repaired.

Yes these issues with our motels is getting old! Why does our Suburban not have air conditioning? We’ve received estimates in the $3,000 range to get it operational and we’ve simply opted NOT to do so.
