APR 16, 22 .. EASTER SEASON 2022 .. HOLY SATURDAY

Now that I seem to have gotten myself  ‘into’ discussing the Easter Season 2022, I want to continue with the Saturday between Good Friday and Easter Sunday. To be honest, I had no idea that it had a name, Holy Saturday, or that for some faiths, it’s one of the most important days of the year!

With help from (you know who .. Google and Wikipedia etc) here we go.

Holy Saturday commemorates the day that Jesus Christ lay in the tomb after his death, according to the Christian bible. It is the day after Good Friday and the day before Easter Sunday. It is also known as Easter Eve, Easter Even, Easter Vigil, Black Saturday, or the Saturday before Easter.

Below is what I feel is an excellent link that discusses Holy Saturday.

Good Friday April the 15th 2022

Call it  the Holy Spirit at work but when I sat down here I had absolutely no idea that the above writing was about to happen. I had planned to share what Patti and I did today on Good Friday and what a really wonderful day we had. First the weather was divine! Blue skies, sun, some refreshing wind and a moderate temperature (our high was in the mid 80’s).

Someone (after reading what follows here) might exclaim, “What an unreligious Good Friday!!”

So be your opinion. But here at the Edgewater Hotel and Casino, the two of us had fun playing with Shamrock, our favorite slot machine.

Over the past two days, we have put $110 into Shamrock. In return Shamrock has given us back $138 for our efforts. We hit a $40 jackpot followed by an $80 jackpot. We also were gifted with a four times multiplier for our True Rewards program. The credit of 80 points over the past two days of playing Shamrock was multiplied by 4 making them become 320 points (good for future discounts on our room stays here at the Edgewater).

We had a great dinner in our room (Angel Hair Pasta Roni with Tuna) before we visited with Tom and Ginny to watch Jeopardy and Wheel of Fourtune. Tom and I then went for a one hour walk in light of an enormous full moon while Patti and Ginny visited.

I forgot to mention I was up and out before 7am to get to Sam’s Club to fill up Black Beauty before the Easter Weekend deluge of people wanting to buy gasoline for just under $4 a gallon at Sam’s Club. And I just kept busy (trust me) all day.
