Patti and I are oh so lucky to have the rich and full lives we are living with our world travels and friends in other countries.
It does not work for anyone with a website to ‘go back’ to a former post and update it because absolutely no reader is going to keep going back to older posts to see if anything has changed.
Here is what we mean.
Last Friday (SEP 24, 22) here on dotnet we posted a photo of our friend Olga.
In the post we wrote : We asked our good friend Olga if she minded if we posted the photo she sent to us (last July) and she said sure, go ahead, hoping someone would enjoy them. We sure got a chuckle out of the one immediately below. Neither of us know what the white space suit is all about.
One of our close friends here in Anchorage commented to the post here on dotnet : ” What she is holding in her hand says ‘Exam’ “
In response to our friend we contacted Olga as follows : ” Hi Olga. Will you please tell us about the white suit (what is it and why are you wearing it) and what the book title says?? “
Olga replied :
“This picture was taken when I and my graduates were finishing the 2021-2022 school year at the end of May or beginning of June. We all (I and my students) were already getting a bit crazy from all the preparatory work for our English exams. The book in my hands is a set of exercises for English exam preparation, issued in Russia. Here in the picture I’m dressed in a defending suit which is usually used by medical people in Covid departments. I’d heard that it’s very hot inside of that suit, so I decided to try it and to stay inside of it for some time during my lesson. My students know that I’m crazy even without being tired from exam preparation. That is why they took it as absolutely natural that I wished to test the suit. I had about twenty suits. I had collected them from city hospitals for my collegue where she was going to use them as performance costumes in the summer camp where she was going the following week. So, here’s a crazy photo of your sincere crazy friend.”
We have stayed in touch with Olga regularly since meeing her in the Spring of 2019. She is fascinating and we love her!!
