DEC 21, 22 .. THE WINTER 2022 SOLSTICE and TEA WITH LORAN AND GARD and THE MAYO CLINIC

The Winter 2022 Winter Solstice

Only in the extreme Northern hemisphere locations are the Winter (or the Summer) Solstice of interest to the residents.

In Anchorage, Alaska, today, Wednesday, December the 21st, at 12:47PM the shortest day of 2022, the Winter Solstice will occur. So what? The days will now begin to get longer as we head for the Summer Solstice 2023 that will occur at 7:57AM on Wednesday, June the 21st, the longest day of 2023.

It is a slow, six month journey, that begins today.

Tea With Loran And Gard

Loran and Gard are two of our very closest friends and Allies here in the greater Phoenix Metropolitan area. Some of you (hopefully) may know of Loran because I have posted many (as in MANY) spiritual words of wisdom Loran has sent us.

We will be leaving Phoenix tomorrow (Thursday) and they asked us to join them for tea.

You have (perhaps) seen many photos over on blogspot of their cacti (plural for cactus) garden. Today, for the first time, we will see a small part of the interior of their home.

Below are three photos of their front yard cactus decorations.

Inside their lovely home we go.

Below is their front living room.

When Patti and I saw the setting for tea, both of us nearly fell over. We (mistakenly) thought that tea would be served, informally, in their kitchen / dining area.

Oh NO ! This was not the case at all !

An elegant setting for tea in their formal dining room.

Loran serving tea.

Visiting over our tea.

The Chandlier.

The Dining Room Hutch.

Candle light no less.

I actually thought the candles were real wax candles. They are candles that run on batteries.

Then, to prove they were not, Patti put her finger into the “candles hot flame“.

And ! VOILA ! Patti’s finger did not get burned.

Well ! When I myself don’t know what tomorrow’s Post will be, how can I expect any of you to know !

Tuesday, December 20th .. Mayo Clinic Update

Today, Patti had her final two appointments for the month of December 2022 on the Mayo Clinic Shea Campus.

First she had a somewhat lengthy breathing test. This appointment lasted almost one full hour. Then, immediately following the breathing test, Patti and I together saw Patti’s alergy doctor.

BOTTOM LINE : Patti’s Doctor gave Patti several medical suggestions. One was the renewal of Nasacort, a past breathing inhalent Patti had used for some time and, with her Doctor’s permission stopped using it. The other a new prescription.

Her Doctor did not think it necessary for us to visit the Mayo E.R. which I was ready to do. Patti’s cough with phlegm is very concernng to me. Patti will again visit this Doctor next February 2023.

Tomorrow, Thursday, December 22nd, Patti and I will drive North to Lake Havasu City, Arizona, to re-visit ” our ” Room 107 at the Windsor Inn.

Over and Out. Ciao4now.

Yes, that is what I gather. I am sorry but it seems VERY serious to me. Over and over again she coughs and now phlegm is coming up. She is going to be on another regimen making it three, two inhalers and a new anti-histamene. At least we totally trust the Mayo Clinic doctors. And she has an appointment with this doctor in February. Yes their yard and the back yard are beautifully landscaped. I’ve published several posts on blogspot showing many photos of it. Thanks for your comment Gullble. Cap and Patti

Yes, the days now get longer, the sunrise and sunset are on their own schedule. The sunset began getting later about 7Dec. Sunrise will not be getting earlier until about 13Jan.

Today sunset was 5 minutes later than on 7Dec and sunrise has 3 minutes to go before it rises later.

The endless cycles of the year, and of our lives as well. It seems like ” just yesterday ” you and I were tooling around twin peaks in your Jaguary E-Type when Bev and I were living on Midcrest Way. That was around 57 years ago Robert. Thanks for checking in here with us. Cap
