JUN 12, 23 .. A PHOTO OF A REAL, NO NONSENSE, ALASKA WOODSMAN
His name is Shawn. Trust me on this, Shawn is a real, honest-to-goodness, Alaskan Woodsman! Would any of you want to “Challenge Shawn” on anything?
The fearsome looking wooden tool that Shawn is holding in his right hand is called a Pickaroon (or a Picaroon), a wood-handled tool (may be other materials also), metal-topped log handling tool.
A Pickaroon, with a down-turned point on its hook, is known as a Hookaroon. A Pickaroon with an axe blade opposite its hook is known as an Axaroon, eliminating the need to carry two tools to manage logs.

For openers : IF a giant like Shawn (photo 1) was to offer to assist me I would be afraid to say no to him! Wowie. Especially with Shawn holding that fearsome looking tool in his right hand (photo 1). So we congratulate you for coming to your senses and saying “Yes Shawn and Yes Mary.” Knowing Mary is a retired RN we know that she can patch up people who say no to Shawn.
