Monday evening, July the 11th 2023

Late this afternoon, Patti and I called Ginny and Tom just to say a quick hello. While still on the phone chatting, I saw a photo from Tom arrive on my smartphone. After we finished our visit, I saved the photo Tom sent into my Smartphone Gallery. When I saved Tom’s photo, I saw the below photo Ginny had sent to me a day or so ago. Where on this good earth Ginny did you find this photo?

Voila !

The above photo instantly (and I do mean instantly) took me straight to Oatman, Arizona, a place we four have visited more than a few times.

The Burros of Oatman, Arizona

During the week of March 18th 2017, while Patti and I were staying in Needles, California, we were told by our good friend Michael in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, that we should not miss paying a visit to the old, ghost, gold-mining town, of Oatman Arizona that flourished from 1915 to 1924. And that is when, and how, we discovered Oatman and its Burros. Thanks Michael 86403.

Because we have done several Oatman Posts over the years, both on dotnet and blogspot, this will be a very, VERY short Blast From The Past.

Right up to our truck they come!

In the below photo, Tom is on the left, Ginny, in the background, wearing a white top and blue jeans, is in the center, and Patti is on the right.

Ginny I don’t have one, single photo of you with an Oatman Burro.

    CAP you can’t imagine how much I love seeing the pics of the donkeys! I LOVE donkeys, spending my last 3 years being a nanny and handler of them here in the Black Hills. I follow the Oatman, AZ donks on Facebook, and admire how that little town protects their desert burros.
    Sweet, stoic, smart and so good at self-protection, donkeys sure are to be admired. Once a friend, they will be for life.
    Thank you! I have my postcard from you from Oatman here on my office bulletin board. I’ll get there myself one day.
