SEP 10, 23 .. O.K. .. O.K. .. JUST HUMOR ME PLEASE ..

O.K. .. O.K. .. JUST HUMOR ME PLEASE .. Just this one time.

I solemnly promise all of you that I am NOT going to go overboard covering the NFL here on dotnet during the upcoming five or so months.

I KNOW, I UNDERSTAND, that all of you real and passionate NFL fans are NOT coming here to dotnet to get your NFL news.

Also, for my own peace of mind, I don’t want to get so involved in the NFL season that it becomes my number one focus in life. Nor am I willing to pay for the purchase of an NFL Season Pass on the internet where you can see each and every single game being played. I have had them in the past and they are absolutely spot on, you really get what you pay for. Up here in Alaska the only team we KNOW we will see is the Seattle Seahawks, our Anchorage “Home Team”.

BUT .. The NFL Season just began last Thursday when My Detroit Lions pulled one of the greatest upset wins in their history. So for the time being, it is difficult for me to focus on other things.

This too shall pass??

The Shadow just said : “Don’t bet on that!”

For instance : In the below photo, My Ally Tom is busy getting himself “into” the upcoming season.. THANKS TOM FOR THE PHOTOS!

Tom, himself a “native Detroiter”, and I chit chat back and forth about the NFL games and that keeps the “NFL in the front of my mind”.

Then I received the below image from Tom..

In my humble opinion, the above is a “cheap shot” at Patrick Mahomes! The above stats are for the ONE game played so far THIS season, last Thursday night.

I did some research on the above (correct) statement that, in two games against Jared Goff, Patrick Mahomes has not beaten him. And the numbers do look very good for Jared Goff when comparing the past nine NFL game statistics (dating back to last season) between the two of them. Don’t forget however that Patrick Mahomes WON the Super Bowl last season, his second Super Bowl win.

I also believe that, had Travis Kelce played in the game against the Lions, the Chiefs would have won. The players covering for Kelce being out of the game dropped several passes that Mahomes placed right in their hands in the waning minutes of the 4th Quarter, when scoring a field goal would have cinched the game for the Chiefs. BUT the fact is the Lions, NOT the Chiefs, won.

Now for today. Back to real life. Patti and I will have three games available to watch. 9am the San Francisco 49ers at the Pittsburg Steelers. 12:30pm noon the Los Angeles Rams at the Seattle Seahawks. 4pm The Dallas Cowboys at the New York Giants.

We did NOT get up for the 9am game! Period!

We watched the Seahawks game with the Rams. The Rams and Matthew Stafford really outplayed the Seahawks!

And the late game, the Dallas game with the Giants. Need I say more!

Tomorrow, Monday Night Football, we HOPE, HOPE, HOPE, that we will get to see the Buffalo Bills at the New York Jets, Aaron Rodgers first game as a Jet. IF on ABC we will see it. IF on ESPN we won’t see it.

Over And Out for Now.

What I said in my SEP 8, 23 Post is this : My promise. Yes this Post “got away from me”! I DO NOT plan to go into this detail any more this season! But this was such a monumental game. Maybe this was our Super Bowl! .. And THAT I intend to do, NOT go into such detail. I don’t think I have said I will NOT talk about football. I plan not to beat it to death. Smiles .. Cap

The Los Angeles Rams and Matthew Stafford sure looked strong. In the Second Half .. LA Ram 359 yards, 23 points .. Seahawks 3 yards, 0 points Oh My!! Cap

You are in luck. Tonight’s game is scheduled on ABC. Yahoo for me – I haven’t been able to watch Monday night football since they took if off the main networks. I refuse to get cable and won’t pay for ESPN or MLBN streaming services so I rarely get to watch a baseball game and I am learning to live with that. Hip hip hooray for Detroit. That was a huge upset and I am sure will boost morale for the team and Detroit. It was a nail biter for me and I wasn’t rooting for either team.

Thanks Kathleen for your long comment. We also do NOT pay for premium channels Kathleen. BUT we DO receive the basic, main networks channels. ABC owns ESPN so it is not unusual (at least for us up here in Alaska) for us to get Monday Night Football via ABC airing the ESPN coverage. Yes Oh Yes the Lions and their fans sure are pumped up over the win over the Chiefs. Smiles .. Cap and Patti
